DDR vs. DDR2

i have ddr ram, if i put a gig of ddr2, will it mess it up?

or do i have to make them all ddr2?

Firstly you got to find out whether your motherboard supports DDR2 ram. Motherboard usually support either DDR or DDR2, but there are some models that support both. But you cannot use DDR and DDR2 RAM together at the same time. One type or the other.
