Deathmatch.gcf

Ahhhhhhh what is going on???

My brother was on my computer trying to fix this (I think he did it in the first place) problem. Everytime I try to play Multiplayer, I get an error that says "Missing deathmatch.gcf" or "halflife2deathmatch.gcf" or something like that. I found a deathmatch file just sitting inside the directory that wasn't there before. Do any of you know what folder it belongs in? :imu:

(my computer>hard drive>program files)
/pretty sure, but im on a mac...

It doesn't have to be Program Files, it's just where you installed Steam to. Mine is F:\Steam\SteamApps.

The default path for the .GCF files is
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps

So basically where you installed HL2\Valve\Steam\SteamApps
You are aware there is a search feature not only on this forum but on your PC!

HIT WINDOWS KEY + The F Key. now search for your GCF files. *.gcf
