Ok now this has been bugging be for ages...
When ever i add in a decal it is always too big... it's like 3 times teh original size... how do i minimize the size of the decals and lock the size?

Decals take their orientation and scale from the face on which they rest. To reorient or resize a decal, use an overlay.

Maybe it should be noted here that overlays take about 10 times the time to render. They're still great though.

the map already takes 3 hours to render :rolling:

That would mean one frame per three hours of playing... I'm pretty sure you're lost.

COMPILING may take 3 hours, but RENDERING is what your computer does ingame.

Overlays have to be on one brush, whereas decals can transcend brushes.

Useful if you have a wall that is comprised of different brushes because of doors, windows etc

yeah, this isn't a place to ask for a mapper... if your asking me teh answer is no, unless it is just for details and such

it says "Nead a mapper? Email me and u will get a reply asap" in your little sig. maybe you are giving people the wrong idea if you actually arent willing to map for them.

That's what I was playing on. Looks like you're the only one sharp enough to have caught it :)

edit: Nuker has a point. Change your sig.

Talking of decals, I'm having some problems with them. Some decals in my map appear fullbright:

I have cubemaps all over the place, but nothing seems to help.

Weird... that looks more like unlit than fullbright.

Is there any other light hitting it other than the abmient value of the light_environment? Putting another light in there would probably fix it, but it still seems really odd and that shouldn't be necessary...
