Delay threads - BAN. READ!

I am getting fed up with this. Read this post! Delay threads will be deleted. If you continue making a load of crap on these forums you’ll end up being banned. If you want to say something about the release do it in here. Don’t be offensive. Don’t make poor comments about Valve etc.

Half-Life 2 is delayed. It’s not coming on the 30th of September through Steam or stores.

Anything saying it’s not delayed is false. There are a lot of fake emails circulating and a lot of news sites are obviously too dense to see that they are coming from ridiculous mail servers and not from valve.

If you want to post something about the delay do it here.

Remember that these games sites make money by having peole visit their site, so any information that will have people flock to their site makes them money. They don't care it is true or not.

Why did they wait until a week before the release? Someone tell me this. You know what, I bet Nvidia has something to do with this. After they saw how poorly their cards did in the test, they pretty much said "take as much money and time as you want, just make our cards look good". Ok, that may be a bit far-fetched but I still believe they did have something to do with it.

I still don't understand VALVe's logic. All of the times Gabe said "September 30th", and now this. I'm sorry, what we have here is a failure to communicate. Bottom line. ;(

I dont understand why they waited so long to tell us eighter, I would never have thought Valve/Gabe would do that to the community... Also it would still be better from our perspektive to see a official announsement on a valve or VU site instead of emails. Oh well Im just a simple computer reseller, as it has confirmed again and again these last few months, we know even less than the n00b kids posting in random blindness. :cheers:

Media Blitz

The Half Life 2 media blitz this month was in support of Microsoft and ATI. I told you all this the moment the ATI vs. Nvidia articles started getting heated...

No doubt ATI saw a surge in revenue when everyone started snatching up their 9600s and 9800s for the launch of Half Life 2. That is because by the time Half Life 2 comes out for the holidays, there will be an nVidia competitor card that will support DX9 fully, most likely and/or ATI will have a better card on the market that will support even more Half Life 2 features. This way, they sell off their 9600s and such right before they launch a newer card.

It was all one big money making scheme, and those that ran out to buy ATI cards now just got ripped off. By the time Half Life comes out now, those cards will be $100 cheaper.

I just thought of this (although it was probably already posted in the multitude of other delay threads). Nvidia was way behind with its cards when it came to HL2 and directX9. Now they have been given time to finally create something that will be able to properly compete with ATI and HL2.

Oh ya and I am glad this thread was finally made. I think my sig helps explain the reason why I like this thread...
