Demo out on Fileplanet

****ing excellent about time to test my pc Hardware. downloading this beast from a popular torrent site.

hey guys watch out, there are two version out there (torrent) one is from fileplanet (decrypted version OK) AND one is encrypted version (not ok)

so watch out and download the decrypted version, someone posted a comment about it, so read before you download.

Radeon 9800 pro 128 won'r run, right? SM 3.0 is required?

There was a time when my graphics card was teh superior.:(
 
If you don't have a fileplanet subscription, check out Gunners link, it has a GLITCH in the entire FilePlanet system that gives you a free ONE year subscription to FilePlanet, complete with beta access(I just confirmed this by managing to enter the CoH beta and reserve the new MoH demo!!)
 
Is there a normal download link anywhere? I can't get the torrent (uTorrent) to go above 20-35KB/s. (I can do about 190KB/s on my connection)

now it's hovering around 40-50KB/s, will it eventually get to a normal speed?
 
There's thousands of people in the torrent, but I'm still getting crap speeds...
 
Honestly, I'm getting pretty bored of the demo now - I've been playing it for half of the week now! ;)
 
Yeah just don't use any real information, just use a secondary email if you have one. :)

depends on your country and ISP, most ISPs are throttelling the torrent connection during the day time, and give you full speed between 1am-1pm.

so enjoy.

they shut down all downloading of the bioshock demo on fileplanet. wtf is the big deal with being so secure about a demo???? just release the damn thing so we may be happy.
 
I was getting 80kb/s. Now it slowed down to about 40.
edit oo went back up.
and down again.

Otherwise known as dodgy ISPs that cannot afford the bandwidth. Obviously there is a lesser demand for bandwidth during the night so they let you go nuts then.
 
Watching my brother play the demo since my crappy PC won't run it. Its pretty damn cool, especially when you first see Rapture.
 
I have about 2 hours left to download. Its not stable so i dont know if thats accurate. It goes up and down.

Yeah, but I've just upgraded my PC, my old one hasn't been able to run it for the last 3 months (it had a ATI 9600 pro in it :|).

This is frustrating, I can't get decent d/l speeds anywhere.

I'm a member.. It's very neat, all the awesome perks. Im a founders club member.
Anyway, my PC broke, so until it's fixed, I can't play it... I've only played the 360 demo.
 
I was motering along @ about 150 KB/sec until I hit 50% now I'm getting 12 KB/sec off of the torrent :/
 
One thing I forgot to mention about the demo, I absolutely loved the hacking mini game. :)
 
Holy shit. The demo ran soooooo good on my computer. I wasnt monitoring the frame rate (trying to be more immersing for the first play through), but there wasnt a single hicup at all. Granted, I was running on a lower resolution, but still, with all high settings I expected some kind of drop, especially in areas with multiple enemies. Damn I am happy about this. I was worried it play like a slideshow, or I would have to make it look like shit to play... but thats not the case at all.

I was running in 1024x720, all settings on high

AMD Athlon x64 3200+
Geforce 7800GT 256mb
2GB PC3200


EDIT: Well, I just played a bit of it again, and it looks like I was getting about 30fps for the most part, rarely dropping to 15.
 
That's one thing I've noticed personally, if you don't have an FPS meter you perceive things to be much smoother. I think it's natural.

Anyway what did you use to see your frame rate? FRAPS didn't load the overlay for me.
 
30 fps isn't good.
 
30 is good enough for me. I dont get why people need more. Television and films are played at 24 frames per second, and you never notice anything.


And I used fraps. Dont know why it didnt work for you Gunner.
 
an hour left for my torrent to finish. good speed 150-250kbyte/s
