According to D'Astous, Eidos Montreal currently has two groups -- a Q&A group that is responsible for testing all of the developer's games from anywhere in the world, and an in-house development team that D'Astous says has just passed proof of concept for Deus Ex 3.

"This game was very highly rated at its release in 2000, and we have this great huge mandate to do the third one, and everybody is very excited," added D'Astous.

I don't know about this one. I am more worried for it than for Fallout 3! How does everyone else feel? I wonder how Mr. Spector is feeling...:|

I noticed he didn't make any references to Invisible War.

Still, there's a tiny, tiny smidgen of hope that they might not **** this up completely. In fact, I'm just going to ignore this game's development and assume it's going to be a complete crock of shit. If it turns out to be anything above that it's a bonus. :D

Deus Ex remains my favourite game in the whole world ever. I must have finished it over a dozen times over the years.
Unfortunately seven years later and still noone seems able to make a game to rival Deus Ex. Mass Effect could be one, but I haven't played it...

If they build it for the 360 it will suck compared to previous titles (Oblivion - basic features compared to Morrowind + sucky GUI, Bioshock - System Shock's successor my ass, DX2 - messed up HUD etc, Rainbow Six Vegas - sucks).

when i read this i ****ing went crazy omg im serious losing my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

****ing it up works out cheaper than doing it right. Fact of life.

They announced this a while ago. You didn't know?

I'm torn. I fear the game's quality outside of Spector's control. The sequel wasn't too great, and Ion Storm's demise makes me doubt its potential.

At the same time... It's ****ing Deus Ex 3! I'm ambivalent towards the trailer, but I hope they can deliver something special.

I have reached the end of the internet.

This is what I have been looking for.

I'd rather someone re imagined the original game using a better engine, in the same way that Tomb Raider Anniversary re-imagined the original Tomb Raider game. DX had a quality storyline and some decent characters in it.

Trailer isn't doing anything for me (actually, it was awful), but then I enjoyed Invisible War, so they'd need to seriously **** this up to attract mass hate from moi.

Yay! @ the music in the teaser. However, if they're going to use a voice-over they should go with a female. That will make the chances of it sounding as it did in the teaser, full-on cheesy, less likely. Also, I wouldn't have minded if they would have wrote something slightly pretentious-sounding since what he was saying was simply dumb.

"For centuries man has struggled to understand his true nature. What is it that makes us who we are? Soon one answer will override all others."

Really? Reaaaally? :|

Is there a link for an avi? I want to store this on my comp and watch it (can't be bothered with convertors and stuff)

Awesome. The teaser looks promising, like very intelligent game. I liked some things in Invisible War (especially storyline, Apostle Corp. and JC Denton).
CYBERPUNK FTW!!!01

Oh my...

50/50 it will fail/win.

Although the trailer's voiceover is shitty, they'd do much better with just text and imagery.

Why are you losing your mind? Because it'll suck ass just like Deus Ex 2?:)

Never played the other two. In fact, I know nothing about them other than their name. Are they any good?

EDIT: On second thoughts, I might've played the first or the second game at a friend's house a couple of years ago.

I hope they go to town with augmentations and player choice this time around.

I agree. It could be so much more with today's technology. The downscaling of reality forces you to suspend disbelief a lot of the time...

Deus Ex is one of those timeless games that you just have to experience. Yes, it has a lot of gameplay flaws. Yes, it didn't even look good when it came out. It doesn't matter. It's incredible. They just don't make games like that anymore.

The second one is just meh.

It was announced on May 17, 2007 by IGN in an interview with Patrick Melchior, the director of Eidos France, on the French-Canadian television station, MusiquePlus.[1] Neither Warren Spector nor Harvey Smith, who were the main creative directors behind the first two games, are attached to the project.[2]

From wiki. This was before this announcement.

if Ion Storm isn't making it,it could turn out like SoF:payback

If this is developed for console and not PC it's instant fail.

my first reaction was that this is great news, but i fear for the overall quality of the game, i'm not sure if deus ex fans will ever be totally happy with the end product, deus ex was quite an ambitious game so topping it, on next gen consoles, will be a hard task imo for any dev.

I've got to say as long as it beats the second then I am happy, I don't think we could get as ambitious as hoping it to equal or beat the first.

Something similar to the engine in Kane & lynch:Dead men would be ideal, as that seems to be able to handle large NPC complexity fairly well (the nightclub scene made me think 'Deus Ex remake material' straight away.

Then I guess it's time to play the infamous Deus Ex 2.

I played Deus Ex 1 when I got it with an issue of a gaming mag. I thought I'd give it a try since there it was anyway, but I didn't expect that I'd be hooked after half an hour of playing. Great game.

I remember a funny moment:

When Simon (was that his name?) came to kill me, I had a recently picked up rocket launcher in my hands and once I saw him I went "oh shit!" and shot him in the face. So much for a 'boss' battle. :p Then some weird creatures ate me ><

Didn't like the fact that sometimes the NPCs were invulnerable. When fighting one of the characters, it turned out that the outcome resulted in how the game proceeded. I had to check a walkthrough to confirm if that NPC was actually vulnerable (it sure could take an excessive amount of damage).

Loved the first, havent bothered with the second.

Excited nonetheless.
