Diablo 2 original CD key...

Oh sweet, just looked on Blizzard and they have LoD for digital download! :D
But it's $20, hm....

Yeah I was kinda disappointed that they still charged so much, and sold them separately.

I played for a little while today, it was pretty fun, but i'm not sure how long it will keep me entertained. It seems like it would get repetitive.

I admittedly, never beat D2.

I just kept going online and jumping in the middle of games.
But I think that since D3's release could be near(in a year probably.), I'll play through the game finally.

The game is fun all the way through *Though I hate A2 and A3....they just take way too long for my taste*

Bah, I'm not paying $40 for something I've already bought twice. Damn Blizzard and brainwashing me to lose my CD keys!

/searches vigorously through closet

When I was searching through everything for my CDs, it looks like a bear went crazy through my room...\=

If anyone wants to play, I just installed yesterday and played for a bit.

Mind you, I've only got Diablo 2... nothing else.

Blizzard store is ****ing expensive.
As far as I know a guy at the haus got a CD key for lod for 5,-.
And just installed a pirated version.

Well, wherever i went to buy the battlechest, it was $40, which is what I see reflected on the site for me.

Way expensive, but obviously people are buying it.

...Not really, Blizzard still has people scanning Bnet for illegitimate keys.

Which explains why I've never been found out when playing SC with any of my mashup keys. Right? Yeah thought not. If their own store accepts the key it's bound to work without hassle.

Note: I've owned all games at some point and like many has lost them at some stage.

Was talking about D2 specifically.

Man, screw you guys.

I played for 5 hours straight last night.

Does anyone know a good resource/guide for building characters? I just want to start off doing some really cookie cutter builds without breaking my stats. Most of the stuff I've found isn't very specific at all or isn't updated for the changes in 1.12. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Awesome, my friend just told me he had a spare copy of LoD lying around and he'd bring it by today.
And lo and behold he did.

Sweet shit.

Just try to remember these key steps. When going for skills, don't go everywhere, trying to get a little of every skill. Find ONE skill you want, and max it and the synergies with it. Like for a Sorceress, you could go Blizzard. So Max out every synergy with that, and Cold Mastery. For Defense, do some frost shield or the likes.

Barbarian can be a Whirlwind barb, or for more fun imo, the Frenzy, which means you gotta max Double Swing, Frenzy, and I think Berserk gives you magic dmg, etc etc etc.

As for your attributes, most cases, you will have enough strength to use the equipment, while energy is usually lats thing you'll want to add into, as you have mana pots/mana steal for that reason. Vitality should be one of your main additions to your stats, as the more life you have, the better your chances of survival in hell.

Stats in order of importance (In 99% of all cases)

Vitality > Strength > Energy / Dexterity

I'm going to cry because nobody has gotten on yet....

Sorry, I'm only playing hardcore/no town. Anything else is too easy and too boring.

I only died because your friend died, and I *was* getting sick of my bonemancer ^_^

Pes, tomorrow night after my exam, around 11 or so I'll be willing to start a HC/NT character with you, if you haven't already.

I probably won't have internet tomorrow, or for the next couple days. But I'll let you know when I do!

The game still lags here and there way too much... how anyone puts up with hardcore is beyond me. :p

I had a hardcore character once... I got to act V and got the bright idea to join bloody foothills leveling games then got killed by an amazon that went hostile after firing some guided arrows in my direction. Really fun...

Median Mod

I'm playing it now, its easy to install, and it supposedly makes the game a lot harder.

We should play some over himachi or something.

Edit: This is a really good mod so far. Pretty challenging, interesting skills to say the least.

Yeah, Brother Laz has done a great job with his mod. He was in the Hellgate alpha as well, and quit shortly after release.

Try having a 94 barb in hc and then dying due to a 20,000 damage bug.

Happened to my cousin. I loled.

@that mod:

I'm trying out a necro. It's been pathetically easy so far, but at least it's a really active playstyle. GG summons (i read the site, looks like you can have 40+ minions later), and I can summon totems which give my minions a ton of bonuses, or just do straight damage. One spams meteors all around it for some decent damage and really owns large amounts of easy-to-kill monsters. and it REALLY spams it (if there is a single monster near it it spams nearly my entire screen with meteors over and over, it's insane, like maybe 10+ lol). My merc also spams arrows in all directions which is pretty cool.

Ill have to try this mod out when I get home today...

If anyone feels like playing with me you can get me on xfire or steam.

I'm starting all new characters.

Maybe we should make a social group here in HL2.net no?

God damn, what's the best defense against arrows and projectiles of any kind?
2 archers of any type can take me down within seconds and those fallen shaman imp guys that shoot fireballs and shit do a lot of hurting too. :|
Do I have to bring up a certain stat or something?

I've got a level 13 sorc in MP and a level 7 druid in SP.
