Did Grigori die?

So Grigori was a ghost...

You are right. He had a GREAT ending.A man who is charging a group of zombie with crazy laughs.I always drop a grenade to that zombies to help Father Grigori. Then I turn my face to that Tunnels.

I, uh, I... I...

What?

You know that would be cool. If like an important rebel (like Odessa) said that Grigori was his dad or something.

If he doesn't appear in the future in some other game, he should be considered an easter egg.

-Gordon is walking through a rebel base, walks past some rebels conversing. You go over to listen.-

Rebel 1: Hey, did you hear about that crazy priest guy? Called himself.... ugh, what was it? Father Grigori! That's it.

Rebel 2: Yeah, I heard about him. He was that nutjob in Ravenholm, right?

Rebel 1: Mmhmm. Well, I SAW him once. He passed right by one of our patrols and he had this wierd shotgun. He called it "Annabelle". As we went past, hey stopped us, and he introduced himself. He then blessed us with a prayer and went on his way. We offered to escort him here, but he'd here nothing of it! He said he had some "Important duty to provide his congregation." or something.

Rebel 2: Really? Wow, that's kind of creepy. Well, we'd better get back on watch.

Rebel 1: I agree, lets go.

yeah, except the easter egg shouldn't suck

the tower is the citadel.Place closer to us is Ravenholm. Can't you see the shape of the tower. Its the Citadel!:frown:

I don't think it is. It would be a hell of a lot bigger, and it would loom over Ravenholm. Plus, at the top of the C17 citadel, you get a really wide view of the surrounding area, and you can't see another citadel for hundreds of miles.

SERIOUS IVAN IS SERIOUS!

And no. That's a clock tower. The citadel goes up into the clouds and is much wider.

Easter egg or an acual apperience would be nice for Father Grigori, i personaly would like to see him jump on a hunter and blast it right in the eye.........or something -_-

I thought this was pretty good actually. I wouldn't mind coming across something like this in the next episode, or even HL3.

I think the Grigori closing message is a bit hit and miss. However, this is one way it can go - and what I believe to be the most satisfying way:

Grigori waves you off, shoots some zombies, sets fire to some barrels and dissappears off into a stone doorway (which I got the impression was an escape route). The stone door closes as you hear some of his insane laughter.

He can also wind up simply shooting the barrels, standing next to the cliff, and taking out the zombies one by one - totally avoiding the dramatic ending. I've never had him die at this point, but I don't believe I've stuck around long enough to see. He was getting beaten up quite badly.

I doubt we'll see him again in a future HL game, but who's to say?

I think a good nod to him would just to be fighting thourgh some zombies and you can hear his gun. Just somthing for poeple to discuss.

His gun sounded like the normal shotgun.

And, I just got through playing Half Life 2, again. After a bit of zombie annihilation, he went into the lower left corner and disappeared. More zombies went in after I killed a bunch, but there was no gunfire or anything, and he had no zombies in there when he did.

He's still alive.

He was a great character, but I've seen enough. Don't want too much of a good thing.

That tower is too small to be the citadel. The citadel went through the clouds. That tower just looks like an ordinary skyscraper.

Well, really, what would be the significance of bringing him back? There is none.

If Grigori is to get a mention, I'd simply put it as a passing comment as to where the shotgun came from. Maybe when you pick one up in Ep3, it's from a rebel who says a mad old priest gave it to him. Or something.
