Ketchup doesn't necesarilly need to be refridgerated, but it's a fact that food lasts longer if you keep it cold.
It really all depends on how fast you eat the stuff. But I've also noticed that warm Ketchup is thinner than that which is cold.
I like to keep it in the fridge so that it is with all the other condoments and doesn't feel left out.
