Do You Remember...

I was sort of into POGS. I had this one slammer that was all-bronze, with 2 skulls headbutting on it- that shit was badass. But overall, pokemon cards had a much larger impact on my childhood than pogs.

In fact, with the physics engines these days, someone could make a pogs internet computer game! You could even design your own pogs. It would win.

I am totally for the internet pog game. How cool would that be.

I remember these. I still have shitload... somewhere.

OMG I think I had that exact same one! I remember the entire set I had was all skullish and other junk like that. It was as if the idea of little cardboard thingys weren't stupid enough, so they put some skull and crossbones on there and all of a sudden all the cool kids have em. With my badass pogs I'm ready to kick some f*ckin ass.

But I don't remember - what was the objective of the game? Something about hitting the normal ones with the slammer and they all went flying. I never actually played the game, if it even was in fact a game.

i have them somewhere

but what a stupid thing to own

Pogs were rubbish. What were they even for?

Something I am sure. I dont know. It was just one of those fads. But to rememeber hitting our friends pog stack and then getting to keep the ones that were now flipped over. Gosh the memories of all the games I won. And Lost.

(shippiedit: sorry, clicked the wrong button. Ignore this D: !)

I had the full set of Star Wars tazos when I worked in London. They adorned my desk like a..a...big, sad, geeky Star Wars thing :(

:O

My sister has a load in her room. Around the same time the I was getting into Dragonball Z I had a look at them and realised that a load of them where Dragonball Z ones (and this was years after she had stopped collecting them and me thinking DBZ was a newish show :p).

LOL. I nearly had the whole collection of Dragon Ball Z Tazos.

Man the Tazos were like the branch off of Pogs. And some where better. Cuz they were plastic and the pogs were like card board.

I used to have pogs too, but the fad never really catched on in mainland Europe.

And Big Brother never caught on here. America wins.

I am totally d/l that song now

What other things do you remember from your childhood? I am saying toys or shows or even games. Like remember when Hide and Go seek in the dark was cool?

I'm a huge Van Morrison fan, i have 3/4 of his albums, good on your bringing back the Morry love. Get 'Start All Over Again' and 'Real Real Gone' for some happy tunes!

Goin' down the old mine...with-a transistor radioooo (best line)

That suxs. I mean I had the cool Yo-Yo that would light up. I wouldnt even let my sisters play with that one. But yeah Yo-Yo's were cool here too.

I remember when those scooters (the small ones) went on sale, everyone bought one including me, and I let some guy do a bunny hop on it, and he broke the handlebars right off the deck... the part where it was welded.. it sucked ass.. because that was my last scooter..

I remember this one day at recess we were playing Red Rover and my teacher made us stop and showed us this really ugly scar on her leg that she got back when she played Red Rover.... That game was so unfair. All the little kids got picked on.

I also remember Four Square, and jumping rope, and TRUTH OR DARE.

Kiss or Caught ftw. The boys were chased by the girls and if they were tagged, they had to either be kissed or go to a "jail", where they had to wait a while. Mind you, we were all eight-nine years old, and kissing was so damn sick back then.

That's because all the boys had cooties. Cootie shots ftw. Circle circle dot dot... haha.

Just think, in about ten years everybody will be doing the same thing. They will talk about how i-pods were the coolest thing around and x-box and ps2, people will talk abot spongebob and all that stuff. I cant imagine wat the big things will be then, when u look at the advance throgh the past ten years. It just blows my mind.

This guy has only posted twice. Both times to tell us about things that happened ten years ago.

It was the year I started watching Blue Peter, 1996.

Didn't Tony Blair just appear on that recently, I heard?

Thank God we didnt have that in Australia.....

I cant really remember what we did have when you guys had pogz....

Any help?

Tazo's I think were the equivilant.. they came in packets of thins and CC's.

Back in elementary school POGs used to be the main form of currency. Even during school teachers would allow us to do some menial task (like cleaning desks or the chalkboard) and we could get pogs as a reward. They even set up this thing where kids could pretend to own pog shops and you could buy various pogs from various venders with our schools fake money. It was sweet.

I never collected cards or anything like that. It just seemed like a useless thing to do.
