There is a new delay article about and I'd like to be the first to dismiss it's claims. Once again it's unconfirmed by either Valve or Vivendi.
This time it's come from some sort of release schedule going around the US at the moment.

The article itself is by GamesRadar.MSN.co.uk which is technically the cyber home of PC Gamer UK Magazine.
The title of the article is "RELEASE DATE CONFIRMED" then the second paragraph starts with "this is yet to be officially confirmed. Nice bit of journalism there.

Anyway, my plea to you is once again: Don't take any notice and please avoid making millions of threads on the subject if you see an article in the same context.


FYI: The new release date is supposedly 14th November.


EDIT: Once again, refer to my sig. Rumours do suck, this is probably yet another one of those nasty little biozamanades.
 
What are these guys smoking? Nov. 15 .. where did that date come from?
 
It isn't November 14th unless Valve say so. It isn't anything other than September 30th unless Valve say so.

It's easy 'int it?
 
Again, more sites making up rumors. Ill ALWAYS keep my hopes on Sep. 30th, until VALVE officially says otherwise. Period.
 
lol, PC gamer is quite a relaxed games mag. They enjoy games but dont seem to keep themselves more updated then they have to. And no one wants to say its coming out on so and so date and have it further delayed.
 
Hopefully Vivendi will confirm or deny this soon. I don't mind actually if it's delayed, I can handle it. I think.

And you guys are getting very hostile towards journalists.
 
I dont think anybody in the industry really knows anything for sure about the release date at this moment in time. All the gaming sites keep changing their minds continuously and we have yet to see some real concrete proof. Having said that, Valve keep insisting Sept. 30 is still go....I really don't know, I've heard so many rumours recently! Its really down to Vivendi. And remember, journalists arent all bad, they just want to be the first to get a scoop - even if it means assumptions that are hopefully correct.
;)
 
Personally, I wouldn't even trust it if Vivendi announced it.

They haven't actually done that for ages. The last thing Valve said about the release date was "No comment".

We'll just have to wait.
 
maybe valve is fooling us right now and they going to release hl2 at 10:00 am 9-11 ...
 
That's if they even announce that it's gone gold. They may not.
 
Why would they release it on 11-9?

Really? Thanks for the correction. I was under the assumption that Gabe had begun using that phrase after becoming tired of the question whereas Erik and others were staying with the deadline. You're right. Its a wait and see situation.

well if it gets released nov 14. then so what? thats only 2 weeks late. I've waited years, i can wait 2 weeks. I only hope its not delayed much past that
 
6 weeks. sept 30 is 6 weeks (+-) before nov 14

I saw this too, I read throught the post and found that segment you (Chris_D) was talking about. Complete and utter bull sh*t. Why would you have a title "ITS CONFIRMED" then in the next line say "This isnt confirmed yet." Fools.
 
I said it before and I will say it again I am really really getting sick with these threads about the delay and I dont know what to say people the date is going to be September 30th!!!!!!!So dont worry about it and have a little faith with you people worrying is just gonna make you sick to your stomach and mine too so close these threads!!!!!!.

Whay exactly is their source? They talk about some sort of list floating around. Are they going by retailers dates?
 
if vivendi are trying to delay it, can't valve say "truck you, we're going to publish it ourselves/get someone else to do it"

Its suposed to be smallest to largest ie Time, Day, Month, Year, Eon.

America just changes it up to be cool.

Valve and Vivendi will have a contract so they won't be able to do that, although Valve can use Steam to release it, I think.

But if Valve says "Truck you" Vivendi will sue them for breach of contract. Besides, we don't even know if it's only Vivendi responsable for any delay.

I refuse to believe in this "October" people keep mentioning.
 
What if Valve totaly pwn us and releases on Sep 13th, what IF! lmao :D
Theres no chance in that but would be nice, I'd have it for the holidays.
i wouldn't be happy if it was delayed to like November or December even, we would probably get DOOM 3 first, but, i got medium hopes for sep 30th.

Yes and that was the whole point of this thread and you really didn't have to make a whole new thread on the topic. Use your head once in a while.

yea, thats not ****ing funny. 2000+(?) ppl lost thier lives and you dont need to make comments like that, though i still dont understand that post...
 
i dont even think Valve knows when they will be done, they prob GREATLY hope to be done by Sept 30th, but i highly doubt they know, its not like baking a cake and you know itll be done cooking in 50 min etc, random bugs can be found and might be fixed easily or hard, shit happens, people get sick, data gets lost, human error, goodluck, all this shit goes into it and they cant control most of it, so in the end NO ONE KNOWS UNTIL THEY GET THE MASTER DISK DONE TO SHIP TO THE MANUFACTURING PLANT, then its DONE

end rant , sorry for caps ;-P
