Can you upload some preview pics? You go on and on about how we have to see it to believe it but you provide no in-game screenshots. :|

Yea I can't count how many times I've found mine, only to turn around and "lose" them all over again. Something about Doom3 discs that keep hiding in my room.

Garfield without exagerating, how good are you at weapon scripting and item defenitions?

Im having trouble on a new gameplay element I want to include. Its like monsters will drop things you can use to upgrade your weapons.

A simple version would be for a monster to drop a kit, and when you pick it up it upgrades your weapon slightly. I've got it partially working to where when you kill a particular monster he drops the lazer sight kit for the pistol, but unfortunately it doesn't activate it in the script so for now its included when you first get the weapon.

no, becuase i want it to be a shock and awe thing.

If i show you how everything looks so far, it might not have as much of a new feeling and impact when you see it 4 months from now. Its impressive. Everytime I play the game I am surprized myself.

I know 4 months seems like a long time - and it is, but this is very time consuming stuff. It will be here before you know it. For know i can recomend some extremely kick ass mods.

I only replied becuase I saw a couple people bumped this thread and I wanted to fill everyone interested in and let them know I have not stoped working on everything. In fact, I've got Paint Shop Pro open right now working on something cool >=)

sorry. trust me when you play it, you will see (and hear) the amount of work put into it at every turn. Quality. No need to explain anymore :)
 
How about one screenshot showing off some textures? If you have time to post here on the boards, then take a few more minutes and upload a picture. One pic.

Trust me, I've been tempted to show off what I've done so far but this mod cannot be summed up in 1 picture.

Its late now. I run a different config setting for screenshots with shadows and high res. Im tired. I'll consider uploading some pics tomorrow ok


I'm also afraid people are going to copy my ideas, so when I finally finish everything I want to include, it will look like I copied them, instead of the other way around. That would piss me off.

It's done. It's been done for a while, although there are probably a few new things I want to add. I've been craving playing it and working on it lately but I've been pretty busy playing Oblivion.

Hundreds of new particles including but not limited to: all new explosions for each explosion type, bullet effects, fireballs, background fires, BFG and plasma gun have heavily improved particle effects, and many new enemy attack and death effects. New real-tracers[TM] All new weapon skins and shaders. Hundreds of improved textures and shaders. New monster skins and shaders. Two new weapons that are keyed to share the number buttons like RoE used. The explosions have much more push and items have had their weight adjusted. An explosion will throw enemies and items back. The pistol has been improved to be more powerful so it will remain a useful weapon. Beginning monsters have had their health improved to compensate. Zombies which were completely harmless because they were so slow, now are faster.
Possibly up to 1000 new, slightly altered, or heavily altered sound effects. Almost no changes to ammo amounts, weapon damage, or any of the game-play to keep it vanilla-ish.

:devil: Release date is 6/6/06, and I will create a new thread and link to download it, and a download link in my signature as well.


EDIT: also new is a high perfomance HUD, and many things I didn't mention. You should get slightly better frame-rate with my mod, as well. Highly tweaked.

Yes I stopped working on it over a month ago, but I just fired it up a few minutes ago and it's ****ing awesome. You will indeed be impressed. I also noticed a few things I want to improve (change the color of a few things) and a few things that are unfinished (all new splash loading splash screens is only half done.)

This mod is huge, I hope you guys have a decent internet connection. My plan was to separate parts of the mod to be downloaded separately because it is over 2 gigabytes.

I'm certain you are going to love it if you already liked this game.

*Correction, there are 2 new weapons that can be found in both Doom 3 and the expansion RoE.

Also, there is a weapon addition exclusive for both D3 and RoE. So a total of 4 weapon additions between the two Doom 3 games, and you will love them all I'm sure. I know I do.

All of these weapons have shared ammo considerations, have a button to select them, and can be found in the game - thanks to a source code modification. No more is it required that you scroll the mouse wheel to select them, or if you run out of ammo the game will crash - as in other mods that include weapons.
