Edit: ..wait, how is this confirmed? GameSpot has that date under the release field, but, that doesn't mean it's confirmed. I don't see a press release/article about it..
 
i wasnt too excited about this game until now. i was going to wait to upgrade my video card a little before HL2, but i might have to do it in april just to pass time with doom until it does come out.

Oh no! I better get my friends computer build before April so I can play some major DOOM on it! Ahhhh 2.1 speakers with total of 200 W output. (Hey I'll take what I can get!)

edit: i know i will get pretty avergave framerates and average detail on my computer so that's why I'm turning to a friend!

I have seen this happen before ...

I will wait until I see it on the shelves, purchase it, take home and install before I shat my pants. No date is "official" until I am playing it on my own rig.

Games don't take over a month to be mass produced, lol

gold doesent imply its mass produced, it implys its finished and ready to ship

That would be sweet ... but like I said ... not until I play will I be convinced. Didn't Condition Zero go gold until some bum at valve decided they didn't want it to ship?

Well, if you say it's "gone gold," then that means the final version has been sent to the publisher to be mass produced.. true, it doesn't mean it directly (IE. Vivendi and CZ :| lol), but.. with a game like this..

AGAIN, you're talking about VALVE here, KINGS of the Delay.

I like to call them "Valvus Interruptus."
 
This game doesn't look that good, no story at all it is just flashy graphics.
 
Oh! ya think Id didn't say anything about not saying anything about Doom 3 for a while and Only said "when it's done" because they took a hint from Valve? Maybe they said "wow, Valve made a really smart move, lets do the same thing" And now they announced (kind of) and their going to announce that it's going gold very soon. The only difference is, they got it right =)

Doom 3 will be everything Resident Evil wishes it was - with 10 times more amazing graphics.
 
I am looking forward to it because it is a remake of the original doom. I spent many highschool hours playing it on the network with friends during study hall. I also spent many hours in detention because of it.

Perhaps it will come out on April 15 but I am not keeping my hopes up.

Although I wasn't all hyped up and excited about DOOM 3 (maybe it was the leak and how everyone was saying what kind of crappy framerates they were getting), but I will definately buy this when it hits shelves. This is great news!
