Hi,

I'm stuck with 33,3k dial up connection but I have a really fast connection at my University. I want to download the bink videos there but the problem is, that I can download only from normal www sites or ftp servers and cannot install any programs. Is it possible (and legal) to download the BINK videos from other places than Steam?
Also, how many BINK videos are out?

Thank you very much for your advices.

Steam doesn't have the files anymore either...so traditional d/l is the only way...

Wow, that was fast. Thanks. I heard I can download from fileplanet there. But is it (fileplanet) for free?

yea you may have to wait 10 minutes for it to start though, but good speeds once its going.

Forget Fileplanet, we've got you covered at HL2Files, man. Scroll down to about midway at the home page and you'll see thumbnails linking to all of the currently released Bink videos there.

Enjoy. If you have any problems, drop me an e-mail: [email protected] and I'll help you out however I can.

Thanks! So there are 7 bink videos from the game and 1 directX9 efects video.

Are there no plans to release the rest of the E3 footage as BINK also?

Fileplanet is good if you can afford the subs fee (or if you are patient), if not try one of the other options m8.

Vanthem, is your sig entirely appropriate considering you're advertisig what could be seen as a rival website? You have some cojones :cheese:

Well, to be blunt, the only thing HL2.net has over HL2Files are these very lively forums, Jez. Not much of a rivalry really and I don't look at HL2.net as a competitor, just another venue to gather at that's available to all of us eager HL2 awaitees.

Also, I'm not intending to advertise anything, just providing HL2 gamers with one of the best resources to get files and news right away. People link back to their websites all the time in sigs. I'd do it with a simple sig image if I could, but I can't, so the text message goes up. If a HL2.net staffer wants me to remove it, I'll be happy to.

You should use your Edit button, too, Jez. No need for double postin'.
