Man, I've got to read those books. Sounds like godhax. You were right too; most of those spells were 9th level. I think disintegrate might be lower.

Chromatic Orb if caster level >= 12 should do the trick.Man, I've got to read those books. Sounds like godhax. You were right too; most of those spells were 9th level. I think disintegrate might be lower.
The thing with The Witcher is though that all though it used the forms it added a degree of depth to them because it explored the idea of racial unrest and distrust as a plot point. We weren't treated to the usual array of grumpy dwarves, flighty Elves etc, etc. Instead we were treated to characters some of whom had faith in us and others whom we had to convince and others ultimately we had to betray, regardless of their origin. What was even more refreshing was the fact that there was no external arbiter standing behind you assessing whether you'd been a good or naughty boy. How you felt about your actions was entirely up to you, which was quite refreshing Vs the Bioware/Lionhead approach.

Except according to what Bioware has said the setting and game is meant to be more like the Witcher and less like Forgotten Realms in that regard anyway.
Assuming the deviations from the standard fare are solely as a reaction to The Witcher, they've still had two years since its release. It may have been announced in '04 but they released several titles since them so the bulk of the work on DA:O has probably been much later than that.My scepticism lies in the fact that the game was well into development before The Witcher was released, so any gestures towards it's approach are at best going to be token rather than profound.
Yeah that's pretty bad, but so were some of the NPCs in BG1 and BG2. Hardly enough to judge the game by.Secondly:-
Dire, just ****ing dire on every level I'm afraid. I mean I find Subject Zero for ME2 questionable, but its hard to contemplate that this is even from the same studio in terms of characterization, dialogue, the look and feel of the game and the quality of the animation.

Comparing Dragon Age to The Witcher is not fair, in my opinion. Witcher is an action-rpg (I personally hate its combat system), while Dragon Age should be more strategy-oriented, a la Baldur's Gate, KotOR, and so on.
Terrible voice acting and animation, reminds me of those embarrassing old Painkiller cutscenes. or Freelancer. But hey, throw in some tits for the kiddies to fap over and it will sell millions.
