E3: Halo 3 discussion here

Gorgon, you are funny, I bet if someone made Pong on the UE3 you'd be like "OMGZ DIS DA BEST GAME EVAR!"
 
Gameplay 9.8? Wuh? We've seen like, the usual shoot the enemies you can expect from Halo, and even then only seen small glimpses. lol..
 
How can you rate the gameplay without playing the game? :|

Don't even try getting him to make sense of gameplay.
 
From the trailer it looks kind of more of the same, but... it looks like they've upped the ante somehow. I guess I'm hyped. I don't know what I'm gonna do when it comes out though, it's not like I can trust reviews :p

Oh come on, the greatest part of Halo was CLEARLY shoving the butt of your shotgun into a grunts face and hearing him squeel and shoot blue ooze everywhere :D

Just me?

haha, Love all games, every game got good/bad points. always ignore the bad ones and keep looking for the good ones. that is the Key (Hype)

Except on legendary mode. ****ing regenerating shield bullshit.

In the later parts of Halo 2 I chose not to shoot them. :p

Brutes are more fun to fight than the Elites, by a long way, and even more so looking at the trailer.

That was what made them such a good adversary. In virtually every other fps you're thrown generic soldier/monster x and just have to drill em down. Point and click, no brainer. Just a single Elite on Legendary could end your day in a matter of seconds, and you often had to take out packs. Halo gave you the tools to run in there and, with enough practise, kick their asses in quick succession. Despite what Halo fails in, it's pretty much unique in this area.
 
I'm rooting for Halo 3, even though I'm a PC gamer. Of course, it should eventually find it's way to the PC, though it could take a while.

I can't wait to find out if you guys like it or not. I'd like to hear a review of the game from a PC gamer who also plays consoles a lot (looks at warbie)

It could be really, really, really freaking good, or it could just be really good, which I might pass on. It does have some potential, as I liked Halo on the xbox in some ways.

I loved Halo, but was really quite disappointed with Halo 2 (nothing to do with the story and ending btw, purely from a gameplay perspective). A large part of me thinks Bungie got lucky with the balance they found in the original and Halo 3 is thier chance to show otherwise. Whatever happens, it's going to be ****ing immense in co-op! It'll be worth buying for this alone.
 
So, I watched the trailer. And it looked like a slightly better Halo 2. I know it doesn't need uber-graphics, but Bungie certainly made a letdown in that department. And unless they've revamped the gameplay to make it fun, I'll pass. Also, it's rather worrying seeing the Arbiter in there. I loathed his parts in the game.

Really? I found his levels far more entertaining than MC's. You'd pick the likes of that purple, horrible ship over his snow/forest levels? He also managed not to say anything stupid.

Well, last I checked I bought Halo 2 so I could play as the Master Chief. I didn't buy it to play as the Arbiter. Sort of like what happened with MGS2.

Doesn't mean I liked playing him any more than Raiden. Honestly, when you have a character as badass as Master Chief you shouldn't need other playable characters.

Edit: Having said that, if the gameplay was different with the Arbiter that would be a different story, but it wasn't.
 
Arbiter is more badass than MC any day.

I mean, who'd like a character that says "I need a weapon." No, you need to be jettisoned into deep space and never to return.
 
I hope Halo 3 comes to the PC much quicker than Halo 2 did. I'd expect it to, now that Vista is here and all.


The game looks good to me. I'd buy it on what I've seen so far, and I don't buy many games anymore.

I'm interested in the PC version for the mouse/kb control, the upradeable graphics options, but mostly, for the mods! Halo 2 Vista had an editor, so I'd expect one at least as good for Halo 3.

I'd like to screw around with the textures and sounds, and download user made content.
 
I really liked the look of the new trailer for Halo 3. Looks a lot more fun than what Halo 2 was! Lots of mayhem and explosions, which is cool. And to be honest the graphics are fine.

I'm going to install Halo again, you guys all should and we can pwn on some MP :)

I thought that the level design of the Arbiter's levels sucked even more than those of the Master Chief's. Especially when you get tossed into dark corridors with no goddamn torch!

That said, I prefer playing as the Arbiter (Stealth and free plasma swords FTW!).
 
The shots look nice now, not like before. Im waiting for this but it will get over shadowed by the countless other games that are coming out.
