Also, the video is an announcment video... not a trailer or even a teaser. Kojima said will be waiting till next years E3 for any real footage.

Hideo Kojima REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY loves himself.

They're good games, and he is a great director, by all means. But was that unveiling of his name absolutely necessary?

I guess we're waiting til next years E3 for in-game footage because he'll most likely have finished masturbating to this video by then.
 
Is it Raiden? We don't have a clue. Raiden and a certain Russian general have a lot in common. Same goes for Sniper Wolf and Snake.
 
That was more like a Hideo Kojima trailer than a MGS4 trailer

Raiden wasn't so bad. He might have superficially been whiny and metrosexual (which I attribute mostly to being constantly contrasted with manly-man Snake), but his actual character and the associated metaphors were key to the whole kickass postmodernism angle that wouldn't have worked if he were Snake or some sort of Snake variant.

This might be the only reason why I would want to buy a PS3 instead of a Revolution. (So far.)

That was the point though. Raiden was, in part, a parody of those sorts of effeminate characters.
The game itself was a bizarre sort of play on all the weirdest cliches of the whole action genre.

Edit: Also, does Snake look a lot more middle-aged in that concept art, or is it just me?

He might have been a sort-of parody 60% of the time, but the game itself was a sort-of parody 100% of the time, so nurr. :p

I mean, you have to team up with a ninja to rescue the president from a team of mutants planning to nuke new york with giant robots that control the Matrix from inside a Die Hard-style building in danger of polluting the ocean as part of a Government Conspiracy. And that's just one scene!

Ah well, at least I was ambivalent enough about his character that it in no way detracted from the hawt MGS2 experience.
 
Big Boss is one of my favourite gaming characters.
I'll try to update Windows Media player, but if that doesn't work, I'll try to see if I can get another source. I think Snake is starting to get to Sam Fisher's age, I like his mustache and beard. Big Boss is starting to look really weird. It's hard to believe that Solid Snake is a clone from him, Big Boss seemed different in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
How do you update Windows Media player? I think I already have the latest version.

well it was a big deal to MGS fans because he claimed that he wasn't working on them anymore and everyone thought that until this trailer, so it was indeed big news
 
MGS3 Subsistence looks nice, online play with 4v4, I hope they include it in the PAL vers, because I have to shut down my chip to play the PS2 online, and then I can only play PAL games :(
Also, MGS4 will apparently sport another new online addition?
This is going to get exciting.

I don't know how the Multiplayer's going to work, but it also comes with the first 2 Metal Gears, which is pretty cool
 
You don't? There'll both be one mode, where there's a bunch of guys trying to track down Snake, then there's a "TDM" mode, where one team is the GRU and the other KGB, and you try to kill the opposing team, simple enough imo.
Or do you only mean if you don't know wether it's going to suck or not?
The 2 MGs ain't nothing special, atleast not for me, albeit I dunno what the difference are between MG1 on MSX and NES, I have the original NES version, in package and everything here, damn that game is annoyingly hard :p
