If You Check Out The Website It Shows Valve Have A Place At The Expo, Surely They Must Be Showcasing Ep 3? Is There Anything Else That They Could Apart From Maybe Portal 2 At A Long Shot

Who Knows? Not Me, That's For Sure!

I Think We Will Just Have To Wait And See How Things Pan Out, Hopefully Looking At Booth Babes While We Wait For Valve's Presentation To Start.

Yes I Think We'll Be Seeing Some Ep3 Stuff Now That L4D Is Out And It Got It's DLC.

I'm fairly confident there will be a Episode 3 trailer, and some Portal 2 screenies.

It doesn't have to be EP3. Valve shows off Steam every year at these expos and sometimes don't bother with any games just Steam. They'll be showcasing the new Steam features such as Steamworks so don't get your hope to high for much info.

You know, more the time passes by the more I have started thinking that ep3 will never get released in near future. I mean, forget 2010 or 2011, I am thinking about 2013-2016.

No Episode 3 info, Gabe will talk about Steam marketing and stuff. :p

I would assume they would at least mention EP3 at some point since so many people are waiting for it.

Valve needs to show Ep3 or **** them.

This. I'm getting really sick of waiting for them to show at least something. My anticipation level's already gone way down for Episode 3.

Valve are going to be there indeed, but they won't say what they are showcasing. But we are sending -smash- there and he will be reporting back!

Yet when it is shown, regardless of when, it will shoot right back up.

Come on, they have to say something about it, at least. Even if it's just a few sentences about progress coming on nicely, not that that would satisfy me. If they don't, I'll... then I shall be forced to use sarcasm.

if they dont show anything i would have to conclude that they still have no idea what to do in that episode

waiting for Episode 3 is like what people must have endured for Return of the Jedi!

I at least want a shard of information. Mostly a trailer, pictures, or more importantly, a release date.

I doubt we're getting anything more than an approximate of an approximate, in terms of release dates. I think Valve will have learned by now that they're practically guaranteed to delay it if they announce a release date, so they probably won't give that until it's nearly finished. Unless they've suddenly learned to stick to deadlines, that is.

they better or i will lose hope in all of mankind lol jk. remember when they first showed hl2 at e3 way back when? it took the show by storm and the hype there was enormous. i hope it will be the same for ep3. hopefully they will show off new technology that is amazing.

If we get no important news then I will cut all data transfer between my servers and Valve, these data transfers consist of large volumes of porn.

Doug Lombardi said we might get our first look near the end of 2008. So maybe they have a screenshot ready for us by now. Any kind of media about the game would top a release date.

This

That and the fact they said Ep3 was their most ambitious project to date, maybe they hit a barrier or two; but I'm guessing the game will be better of for it

I remember an interview way back when with David Speyrer, who stated that (at the time) they were not really sure about the direction that Episode Three would take. IIRC it was a few months after the release of the Orange Box, so we could probably assume that at least a portion of the work done during the development of Episodes One and Two was scrapped. Yet I am confident that something is going to be shown in a few days.

I'm sure they will show something. they know full well how many waiting fans they would let down if they don't at least mention it.

"UPDATE: Valve has stated that Half-Life 2 Episode 3 will not be shown at this year's E3. Sorry for the confusion!"

It's really funny how some people seem to think that they are the only person on the planet who use yahoo.
Ep 3 should be shown. If not it will be something very familiar... I think it would amazing if they bring in Adrian Shephard again... am I the only one who is curious to know what happened to him after opposing forces?
