Hey

Does anyone know where i can get the hl2 E3 preview as an .avi? .movs run to slow on my comp ;(

Thx

you may be shit out of luck. why do .movs run slowly? old version of quicktime?

well, you're gonna have to upgrade for HL2....

Nightmare: check the other thread about the E3 vid, they did finally work out a decent machine that would run the game based on what was used to do the E3 vids.. Come april it should be pretty cheap too, if thats when HL2 is really coming out (atleast I'm planning on it being april for the new card to run with it.. otherwise I'll be stuck playing it on a new flash machine and a naff Geforce4MX for the next few months haha)

Pffft, your computer doesn't runs a simple .mov file ?

Man, you have to upgrade this computer if you wanna play HL2.

I have not as of yet found a .avi of the e3 vid.. Sorry, I think your out of luck on this one.

No luck Nightmare... seems ur gonna have to convert it yourself... and THAT will take about 7 hours and 8 gigs.

Does that need a high spec machine to run?

If you also download the bink tools then no it can often run on anything. I think the default setting for the Valve bink vids might struggle on low end systems but with the bink tools you can open them via that, then advanced, then select a different method of playing them, which works best depends on the machine in question. Atleast the bink tools are free, and if it wasn't for so many malicious exe files doing the rounds on the net I reckon bink vids would have become the standard for net vids long ago as the quality is great and file sizes don't have to be massive neither. Mind you I'm forgetting those OS' and machines that don't understand exe files, but can't please all the people all of the time

so there we have it!

Bink files might be the best bet dude, and you can find them everywhere... I would give pc.ign.com or www.fileplanet.com a go, granted they are pretty slow, maybe some of the other members can make suggestions as to where to download them from too.

I hope this has helped a little.
