Hi Helplife2.net.

I have a question for people who sell crap on ebay. I just sold my first item two days ago. The buyer paid with a credit card. I got an email that said he paid with credit, that I would need to upgrade my Paypal account to a "premier" account in order to accept credit payments, and that until I did so, the payment would be pending. This upgrade was free, although it has some rip-off fees that come with it, but what are you gonna do?

Anyway, I upgraded to their "premier" account, but still I have not received the payment. Maybe it takes a while to show up because its on a credit card, I'm not really sure. The disconcerting thing is that there is nothing about the payment in my Paypal account. It doesn't say that the payment is pending or anything. There's no record of it at all.

So the main question is this: Is this kind of thing normal or do you think something is wrong?I don't want to keep the guy waiting too long, but I'm not shipping until I see some money show up in my account. I'm already pretty soured on this whole eBay/Paypal thing. It seems like it's more trouble than it's worth.

Thanks people,

Patrick

I haven't sold anything but I advise you to contact paypal about it. And as for the BS fees I recommend going back down to the previous account type and in the future sales you make specify that you will only accept payment from another paypal account.

I've never used it before, but it's acting like you have created a new account instead of changing your old one.

go back and check the email you recived and make sure any links in it point to www.paypal.com. I'm guessing, but what may have happened is that your "buyer" has fished your paypal details. I may well be wrong, but if your not sure, log into your paypal account, check your primary email has not been changed, then change your password.

Do this ASAP. If I'm wrong (and I hope I am) then you lose nothing, if I'm right, it will save you a shit load of headaches and lost money.

To make sure you have a legit address, check 2 things. Firstly, make sure its a paypal.com or paypal.co.(whatever), secondly, make sure the address does NOT have an @ sign in it.

Just call up pay pal. They dont have to guess as to what your problem is like we do.
