**** sake!

I'm so pissed off. I suppose this isn't a disucssion as such rather a general rant and a warning to everyone.

Okay, so I bought a Nokia 6100 off ebay from a guy with lots of positive feedback thinking I'd got a good deal (final sale price £137 & £5 p+p).

I paid by PayPal so the guy really should have sent me the phone straight away, but he replied after payment saying it would be a few days because he would send it from work (therefore he gets to send it for free?).. anyway a few days later I got the phone.

So I opened the box, put my sim-card in, turned the phone on and it seemed to work fine. I then gave the phone a quick once over, checking the menus etc. All seemed fine so I gave the guy a good piece of feedback.

Later that day I could hear a vibration on my desk upstairs. I went up and someone was calling the phone. I thought it odd that the phone didnt 'ring' so I reset it to factory default settings... no luck.

This was when I realised what I'd forgotten to check the loudspeaker! It was broken... and I could neither hear people ringing me, or switch loudspeaker on during a call.

I e-mailed the guy to tell him and he said that because I'd left him good feedback as far as he was concerened it was no longer his problem and told me to send the phone to Nokia who would fix it for me free of charge because the phone was only 4 weeks old and still under warranty.

So I sent the phone... and the weeks passed... and passed... and passed. Three weeks later I rang them to find out what was talking so long and was told by the woman on the phone that they'd sent me a letter out which i never recieved on the 30th of January.

Basically the long and short of it was the phone had been damaged by water at some point and this wasnt covered by the Nokia warranty. She also informed me it would cost £12.99 to get the phone delivered back to me.

So now I'm £154 worse off with a phone that doesnt work properly and stand to loose a ton of cash even if it sells well for a faulty phone on ebay.

TYPICAL!

I really hate assjacks like the guy that sold you the phone. He should be fed to a pack of starving gerbils.

Wow, I feel bad for you. The same thing happened to me when I bought a gaame boy.

i dont trust ebay.. i wount buy anything off it. to many people selling crap. why dont you just sell it again :/

We got ripped off... paid for a copy of Age of Mythology, got a crappy pair of pirated CDs.

Don't buy anything from Ebay. I have a friend who paid £200 for Digi-cam, he got a PS2 which worth £100.

I don't know this crap. But my freind baught a good Nokia 73XX for a good price and is fond of it. He says he got it really cheap.

never buy anything electronic from ebay....unless the person promises that it's in mint condition and all parts are working...then consider it. otherwise you're just asking to get screwed.

I just ordered a stun gun from there, I live in the UK so had to get it from America.
This is my 1st buy off ebay so I hope the guy aint going 2 rip me off, and praying it gets through customs ok

Do you have his address from the transaction?

Send him chopped up cat's testicles... worked for me!

Thats how you win though...

Can't you email someone at Ebay and tell them your story and see if they can't change the rating you gave him from good to bad.

I was just about to buy an Apple II Classic from eBay when I read this :/

Now I'm not going to do it (plus the auction ends when I'm away)

My brother got the really old pirate lego boat off ebay. Its in great condition, but then again its not the kind of thing people try to rip you off on....It even had the spare peices.

Luckily, so far, I've had good eBay transactions....

however, I ordered a mousepad that mounts to the arm of my chair, it was a dutch auction, so there were 3 winners (including me).
I paid, and so did the other 2 bidders, all with paypal. After a couple of days, I check my e-mail, no word from the seller, so I check his account, and look at his feedback, lo-and-behold, the two other bidders left positive feedback detailing that they received the product as described.

I e-mailed him yesterday, asking what's the hold up with MY order, and have yet to receive a reply. It's only $13, but still, he'll be getting reported to the auction house and payment refused on my CC if I don't get my product soon. Negative feedback regardless.

i bought instructions on how to "get a new iPod for $50 or less!" for $6... i did it on a dare, and it worked... so now i resell the plans on ebay for about $10 a pop while listening to my $53 iPod (incl. auction fees)

lol, those actually work? and are legal? I still don't think I want to try something like that, I'd just assume you have to do something sly, or something along those lines..

it takes a while and u got alot of work to do afterward (cancel things, etc...)... but it's worth it! and it's legal! ... if u promise not to put this info on kazaa... i can PM it to the first 3 people who PM me asking for it... GO!

I don't trust those ones that are like learn how to get a $3000 alienware for only $300. Sounds like bull to me. If you could I'd keep buying them at $300 and selling then for a $2700 profit.

i also re-incarnate it... so it appeals to a larger crowd (nib x-box for $35 bucks... new $7 VideoGames)

no, it only works once for big things, and maybe 4 or 5 times for little things like CDs or Video Games... but it's still 100% legit... u just run out of resources to get these cheap stuff

My friend has bought lots of game systems off ebay, tons of games too, they all work fine, I guess some people are just assholes who put up broken shit.

The auction said 'as new' and the guy told me it was like 4 weeks old, so ya know...
