elder scrolls oblivion to be only 1 disk according to ign

Same time.
And mate, you shouldn't worry, Bethesda are professional, there won't be any difference in the versions and I'm pretty sure it won't be consolized, remember, Elder Scroll 3 was also on the Sechs-Box and they didn't **** that up, albeit the XB vers had horrible loading times.:D

Why do you hate the Sechs-Box btw?
Did it come and molest you in your sleep?
I do offer free therapy sessions for a minor fee of 250.99 bucks a minute!

It will be interesting to see how they handle mods over xbox live since its such a great service and all :|.

And will Bethesda be including the world editor in the 360 version too? If so, will it be dumbed down like the awful Sandbox in Far Cry Instincts for xbox?

You could probably use a USB mouse and keyboard if it wasn't dumbed down. And also I don't know how much time Bethesda plans to spend on a level editor for a console. The main userbase of the console version would be casual gamers, not modders.

CR0M, yes?:D

never trust release dates, rule no.1 of gaming

ES4 on the 360 probably won't support mods, that's why I'll get the PC vers when I get me new comp when Vista releases, by then atleast a handful of good Oblivion mods'll be out.

And it doesn't include a world editor, and that's kinda stupid considering how you could do some comprimises for it.

My dream is games that have the editors being downloadable onto the comp, you make new levels, script'em etc on the PC, then send'em over to the 360.

A game that(albeit not officialy) allows you to do this is Operation Flashpoint Elite on the XB1, if you have a modded console you can create missions using the PC vers and with a few small mods to the code or w/e, you can run'em flawlessly on OFP:E..

That's what I was thinking, but it doesn't matter to MS anyway since it'll sell well for Windows PCs and well for the 360 and they'll reap all the rewards, so they have no real incentive to urge a developer to somehow make content available on both mediums. Too bad for now, but I am sure we will see something like this in the future no doubt.

well judging from this website, so are a lot of pc users

ah I liked it when I played exclusively on mac computers (ok the 3 games I had) ..rarely did you find someone who was immature. Most people I knew where either designers or musicians and all were around my age ...sigh ..I'm stuck with the kiddies ;(

well... and also I think Consoles ruin PC Games-Deus ExII, Halo, and KOTORII

CptStern.. You don't wub us!?*Sits in a corner crying*

yeah.... thas a ****ing prime exsample thief was totally fugged

Mate, it's not the consoles that ruin the PC games, it's the devs.
The console doesn't just magically change the gameplay in the game, it's the devs that decide to change the aspect.
There're some great examples where devs do NOT dumb down their games, OFP:E and Morrowind on the XB1 for example.
And how can you say KoTOR2?
Iirc KoTOR both came out and was announced first for the XB1.. So technically it's a console game then..:)

End conclusion: Don't blame the console, blame the devs who for some reason decide to dumbdown their games, also, don't say they have to be dumbed down due to say the joypad, I mean, OFP:E for example, is a military SIMULATOR, but it worked just fine with a joypad.

bioware has no sense of honor... bastards, they should have sticked with the PC

No they shouldn't, then there'd be less people that'd be aware of how good games they can do.
And man did I become happy when I read about their partnership with Pandemic Studio which also is a favourite game dev of mine(Made Mercenaries for the consoles, which we'll be seeing a sequel rather soon off..;))

omg.... u have a console!!!! no wonder..... :( Am I the only one without a console?

And will Bethesda be including the world editor in the 360 version too?
No it wont.

The 360 WILL ONLY SUPPORT BETHESDA MADE MODS, AND THEY WILL COST $.

Check the unoffical FAQ at bethesda's site....basically insane fans that have constructed a massive FAQ all taken from things Bethesda has said and confirmed.

It has all these fourty year old gamers who think there one-hundred.

Oblivion runs on DX9 right?
I wonder how shitty it'll run on Windows Vista under a GPU running DX10, considering that DX10 only emulates backwards compatability, so it'll run game, albeit alot slower, you see, me next comp is probably gonna be Vista(Seeing as previous OSes won't support DX10 iirc), but I wonder how slow it'll run on it considering that the previous DX games'll be EMULATED(Sorta like XB1 games on the 360) I guess, and i.e. run alot slower due to the system processes that have to be run in the background.

I'm definitely getting the PC vers of this too ofcourse, I mean, I've played Elder Scrolls since Daggerfall, so I know it's all about the fanmade user content!

Well Garg, before we eve think about Dx10 lets think about something else:

VISTA WOULD REQUIRE A 64BIT VERSION OF OBLIVION TO RUN ANYWAY.
Now that we have that cleared up, first Bethesda would have to make a 64bit version of Oblivion and change there Dx standards to that of Dx10 and well have it work with Dx10.....

So, Vista == 64bit computer, Xp == 32bit computer, 32bit Application != 64bit Application.
It's why if I run Fedora Core 4 Linux 64bit I can't download the 32bit version of programs and expect them to run, I need to download the 64bit version of programs!

Vista isn't going to force you to buy a 64-bit processor. It's going to come in both flavors.

EDIT: If you want proof... you can head on over to your favorite torrent site and test it... or you can look at nvidia's site for Vista 32-bit support.

Thanks OCybrManO for clearing that up.
It'd be kinda stupid if Vista only supported 64-bit games..
Imagine how many of the old games, that're even current gen, that'd get alienated.
It'd be just plain stupid if you couldn't run 32-bit games on Vista(I.e. it only supporting 64-bit processors).
I'm getting me "next-gen" comp with Vista atleast, and I'll want Oblivion for it, albeit I'll have to check how ok Oblivion runs on me 512 RAM, 2.5 Ghz P4 and Radeon 9800 first..-_-

This game looks amazing. Those E3 videos blew me away... :)

Edit: The only thing that bothers me are the animations, especially when a person or creature turns around. Instead of animating it slides in the direction it needs to. But that really is something minor.

As for the game fitting on only one DVD, it seems pretty believable to me.

Your right it is going to come in 32bit and 64bit flavors. Microsoft is going to push the 64bit version.

Anyway, you will probably have to buy the 32bit and 64bit versions seperately so it would be easier just to dual boot your Xp and Vista....

But major games will probably have updates that will add alot of support for Dx10.

I could have sworn it was said it was going to be a single version that supports 32 and 64bit. Maybe I am just dreaming :D

I'm confused. If you did decide to buy Vista x64bit, you should be able to play x32bit games, you just wouldn't get the performance increase, unless you get x64bit support for these games

I don't think 32bit applications can be played on a 64bit system. Dosn't work with Linux(As far as I know with Fedora Core 4), Xp 64bit, not sure about Mac's, and probably not Vista.

I'll try and pull some articles up but im pretty sure.

http://www.devx.com/amd/Article/20342

EDIT: Also, you can use 32-bit programs in 64-bit Linux distros... but you have to make a 32-bit chroot. At least, in Debian-based distros (like Ubuntu) that's how it works. I haven't used other distros in 64-bit because I didn't have a 64-bit processor when I used other ones.

oh-btw guy I got my PCG last nite and OMG...... I really cant wait there are alota nice pics in that issue.Im so glad that the PC version has the construction set tool......its gonna be so cool to have user made content :D

I really think they should release some sort of benchmark tool for Oblivion, so I'll know wether I should get the PC vers or not..

I agree, something like what the x3 non playable demo does would be fine. We already know they aren't going to do a demo but I'd like to see how it runs.

Yeah, because seriously, I don't wanna buy the game for the PC only to find it running like crap, then I'm better off buying the 360 vers..

Omg, what a big and stupid discussion. So Oblivion will be one DVD, not two. Who the hell cares?

6 pages of people plus a ton more on other gaming websites, apparently.

I could have told you it would be 1 DVD, btw did you know half the DVD is just for the sound? Yeah they are goin about and beyond on the speech portion of the game(People dynamically talking to eachother, unscripted about the weather, events, etc..)

wonder if there will be subtitles you can switch on n off...
