I for one, will probably buy it on Steam so i can play it right away. I still want the box and the cd's though, so I'll probably end up buying it at retail too:p

i know alot of people that are doing that... marketing tactic?? :p but back on topic (somewhat) i cant wait to hear the new soundtrack, the old one was perfectly suited to the game, whenever i hear it, all the memories come flooding back

valve didnt do a smart thing cause ppl will know all the dialogus :stare: :flame:

Come on. No one will hear any of the files. It's impossible. They are encrypted. Now-a-days you can pretty easily encrypt something that would take the combined computing power of the world billions of years to try every key for. Your 128 bit IE security probably would last millions, and every bit you put on there makes it twice as hard. If I were Valve, I'd probably encrypt the preloads with 4096 bit encryption. Then let the hacker's try to get their grubby little hands on it.

*I apologize that I don't have the real numbers, but anyone who's really interested can read Stephen Levy's book Crypto.

That's the persons fault, i doubt valve cares, i can easily keep myself away from the soundtrack/sound files, i did from the beta, i guess some people are just different.
