Retard.
Don't even think about it. If you do find a way of doing it, do the smart thing and tell Valve directly.gatts666 said:nope they dont play even when extracted, but i know how to fix it, will put it up how to when im done.
You can't access the preload files.dream431ca said:that's what pre-loading involves: getting the actuall game on your computer. It's up to you or not if you wanna spoil the game for yourself by taking a look at the pre-load files. Just don't spoil it for us. It's nice that this pre-load contains the soundtrack but please don't post anything specific as it might spoil the game for the rest of us. (Thank goodness I'm not pre-loading HL2.)
Chode said:never say never.....
Cybernoid said:The great thing about the preload is that 99% of the preloaders probably aren't even buying the game through Steam... retards.
Because it has all of the voice acting. Technically if it wasn't encrypted then you could pretty much *listen* to the whole game :|maximus0402 said:I dont want to be spoiled at all either, but:
How is listening to the soundtrack of the game going to ruin anything???
clarky003 said:it gives me a percentage bar, the first preload finished at 50%, the second preload seems to of started from where it left off, second perload is now on 58% after starting 15 mins ago.

But they are fully encrypted. If anyone has preloaded the game and can open it in .gcf viewer, it doesn't matter as all the files INSIDE the gcf are encrypted and cannot be run.
I think by soundtrack most people mean the music rather than speech. I want to hear the track from the airboat E3 demo.Chris_D said:Because it has all of the voice acting. Technically if it wasn't encrypted then you could pretty much *listen* to the whole game :|

It can still spoil you.Pretty much all you're gonna get out of viewing the cache file is the directory tree, which aint gonna get you far.
Bait said:Hey...If anyone can find any info pertaining to the second test in the .gcf, feel free to tell us that. Anything spoiler wise, though, we will hang you by your feet in the town square for all to see.
FaM said:The only thing I saw that looked strange was a file called Convert to 8bit in a folder called "test". Don't know if this means anything though.
CrazyHarij said:Phew, I was worried there for a while. Of course Valve knows better than to do anything THAT stupid.. Right?
ShadowFox said:How many songs are there in the soundtrack?
Bait said:Hmm...I am actually worried about a key gen being made that can potentially get a ligit users key. It makes me feel uneasy, especially since Valve has such a hard time in taking off CD keys from accounts.
Bah, I hope Valve has thought of this pretty damn well.
