They were... I spent hours in one instance called the Deadmines... it was extremely cool... no way you can do it without a group, either...Foxtrot said:I heard the instanced zones are really hard and I group is required, too bad they weren't in the beta.
The graphics are pretty bad, but still look good at the same time...IDK why they just do. Everything looks right, like the way it should.Shuzer said:Anyone who says WoW's graphics suck needs to see the game in motion. The graphical style fits the game SO perfectly, that any other style would hinder the immersion factor.
Blizzard is capable of way better, so it's not like they couldn't have done it. Just look at their cutscene movies, those are easily the best (or some of) CGI cutscenes I've ever seen put out.

Shuzer said:Exactly. There are graphical features left to be done, though. Such as the water.

Dalamari said:So it is ok to base the failure of one game on the success of another? SWG was a rushed out POS that had hardly any content and more bugs than any MMO ever. EverQuest has been around for 5 years, had constant updates, a engine upgrade, and stilll brings in millions. They are 2 different games. I guess I should have based the decision to buy Half-life or not on the millions of pinball games Sierra puts out.
Yeah i definatly am looking forward to trying WoW. Aswell as EQ-=jt=- said:Hey B.calhoun! by the time theyre out youl have got to sample WoW open beta try and save decisions untill then
Sure does count!Shuzer said:I know I won't be playing EQ2 over WoW. Does that count?
I wouldn't mind beta testing it, though. But, I have absolutely zero intention of ever buying it, or paying a monthly fee for it.
WoW, on the other hand.. /me preorders the CE and laughs evily
B.Calhoun said:Sure does count!
lol anyway, is it just cause you really like WoW or you dont like EQ2?
EQ2 won't be anything like EQ1, well...it will be a little bit a like but most of the EQ1 team has moved on or is still working on EQ1. I wouldn't base your opinions too much on EQ1. If you didn't like EQ I think it is just because you didn't give it enough time, or you were just a n00b running around aimlessly not knowing what was going onShuzer said:The former with a bit of the latter. I played EQ for a brief period (1 month), didn't really interest me. I played WoW for 10 days (stress test), and I was hooked.
Hmm..
EQ2 looks cool and all, but on another level, it looks bland and unexciting. The character models art direction doesn't mix with the world art direction, IMO.
There are no subclasses in WoW, any all the classes play pretty much the same...but they are all unique and play differently from eachother.B.Calhoun said:Ah, i really disagree though. The detail in this game looks amazing and with the extensive landscapes with interesting sites i feel i will get hooked with this game. And i got hooked to FFXI for a month before i came to my senses and cancelled the account. EQ2 will be a real big hit IMO.
WoW on the other hand is looking great, but with a mere 8 races and 9 classes as opposed to EQ2's 15 (16 soon after release) plus the 6 classes that each come with nine subclasses (i dont know how or if the WoW subclasses work, enlighten me if you will) i think EQ2 will have alot more originality.
Thats a big downside in my opinion. I also love A LOT of customization to be done on your character, so everyonne is different.Foxtrot said:There are no subclasses in WoW, any all the classes play pretty much the same...but they are all unique and play differently from eachother.
I like that too, that is why I am going to be playing one of the least played races with a not too popular classB.Calhoun said:Thats a big downside in my opinion. I also love A LOT of customization to be done on your character, so everyonne is different.
Not to sabotage your plan and become the same lol but what do you have in mind?Foxtrot said:I like that too, that is why I am going to be playing one of the least played races with a not too popular class
I am planning on being a Kerran Fury.B.Calhoun said:Not to sabotage your plan and become the same lol but what do you have in mind?
Im almost 100% set on human ranger.
Cool, does that mean your going to be in Freeport?Foxtrot said:I am planning on being a Kerran Fury.
I will be in Freeport, another minorityB.Calhoun said:Cool, does that mean your going to be in Freeport?
After watching more videos Freeport accually does look kinda cool.
So did I, but there was a poll a while ago and freeport is about 40%, healers in freeport being at the very bottom around %8 I think haha.B.Calhoun said:Freeport is the minority? i thought most people would like to be the badasses...
Ah, i see but i hope healers arent to rare cause that would suck. Im still kinda lost on what to make my name, i could make it Marschalk, a variation of my last name. But i got awhile to think huh?Foxtrot said:So did I, but there was a poll a while ago and freeport is about 40%, healers in freeport being at the very bottom around %8 I think haha.
I have no idea what my name is going to be, I went with a randomly generated one for my EQ monk, Aanlaorn. I think I might use the name generator again, but then there are always names similar to yours.B.Calhoun said:Ah, i see but i hope healers arent to rare cause that would suck. For some reason when i try to login and post on those forums it keeps redircting me to another login screen, and at the fron page of everquest2.com it say Welcome Marschalk (my user name)....weirdFoxtrot said:It is just an ingame name generator...but if you do find a good online one link it please
There is a poll on the eq2 forums right now about which starting city you will chose.
Votes: 15
Qeynos votes: 12
Freeport votes: 3
I had the same problem...and I don't remember how I solved it. I think you have to join the fan club or somthing.B.Calhoun said:For some reason when i try to login and post on those forums it keeps redircting me to another login screen, and at the fron page of everquest2.com it say Welcome Marschalk (my user name)....weird
And this makes me want to join freeport.
