I´ve been seeing the news on BLOOMBERG and it looks like the EURO is going to rise even more against the Dollar in the next few days (some analyst said it).
I´ve been thinking about both the American and European communitys from here think about it. I mean which one of these do you think will be the leading superpower in the next 50 years. For those who don´t want to vote for some reason(like living outside these territories) there is the League of Unaligned Countries.

For those wondering I´m from Portugal.

Edit-Please don´t flame. Gv honest answers.

It sucks for eurpean exporters that the euro is stronger then the dollar.

Sure but it´s a major indicative of greater use of it and healthier economy.

When you say superpower, do you mean military or what?

I think Europe have more resource than the US, We have England, France and Germany with money and large army troops. I dont know alot about other countries than my own, but Sweden got Bofors, Saab (weapons/tanks/aircraft) and something with Germany to build high tech ships (The Visby class). We also have a large export of medicine and other chemicals (Astra Zenica, but I think its half Swedish and half US).

Im not into politics so i dont know a thing but I think it will take alot of time for something like that.... or not.... bah i dont know.

Edit: Oh wait.... Sweden dont have Euro :)

Edit2: I thought about war when i wrote the first stuff... so dont care so much about it.

One funny thing though. Sweden havent been in war for over 220 years but we still build a crap load of weapons...

If Europe was unified then it most certainly would be the worlds top super power but it is most definately is not. The country with the most power due to it's combined economy and military strength is America, which country comes after that is questonable but it's most likely Japan due to it's huge economy.

BTW I would count a unified Europe as haveing one leader, right now there's one for each country looking out for it's own country and stepping on others in the process.

Doesnt Japan have some truble with the economy?

Japan has problems with negative inflation which is destroying thier economy

Edit- E.U. is winning????

OK so I'm a bit out of date, but they did have the worlds biggest economy at one point.

5 votes!!
you people just don´t hv politics in you!!!

Just because the Euro is on the rise right now doesn't mean it will stay there in the long run. Economies go up and down on a regular basis, things could change dramatically in a short time.

Then just because the Euro is currently higher doesn't really mean a thing, the Canadian dollar used to be higher than the American dollar in the 50's and 60's yet we were never nearly as powerful as the U.S. in either military or the economy.

just use your head!!!
Can´t the E.U. beat the U.S. over time??

I think the £ has been higher than the USD for a good few decades now, but it doesn't really help.
