Fable II's generous and forgiving template isn't one that many games choose to follow, but it proves convincingly that if you're clever enough, you can create a consistent challenge without resorting to mindless punishment, and you can craft a sharply told story that still has room for the player to express themselves within. Inclusive and often thought-provoking, this is a daring portrait of a game-world with all the failure cut out, and it's hard not to love a game that loves you so much in return. Fable II will charm you, thrill you, and leave you very, very happy.

awesome, will be a hard choice picking between that and fallout 3 ..I dont have time for both atm ..but fable has co-op ..oh curse you game gods for releasing games so close together

These reviews have been great. 9.5 from IGN and 10 from Eurogamer. Can't wait to pick this up!! They are having midnight openings for it but I am just too damn tired. I'll get it after work tomorrow. :)

Thankfully LBP got pushed back a week so this is my only console game pick-up. Of course, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is out this week too, so I will have to do that as well making it not as cheap a week as I would like. Yeah, this Fall has been one of the best seasons for gaming that I can recall.

Would be more impressive if all video games weren't rated on a scale of 8/10 to 10/10.

I have to send battlefield bad company back immediately to gamefly. Jesus christ there are a lot of good games coming out.

I love the setting, the Enlightenment is a breath of fresh air considering all the medieval RPGs there are.

But I'm going to have to wait for the PC version. Any idea when it's going to be released?

The PC version will come out in exactly 234 days 12 hours and 32 seconds..31..30

Anyways, I would be interested in this if it would come for the PC. I would definatly give it a go then

Well we got lost chapters on PC, so hopefully the PC gaming master race will once again be gifted with an extended and (mostly) debuged fable game! :p

the pc version doesnt interest me all that much ..the best feature as far as I'm concerned is offline co-op. this game is best played on a console (I just saw a pig flying/fat lady singing)

IGN US gave it an 8.8. Hopefully it'll be worth it!

Is this like WoW but for when your Internet goes down?

Looks like a childs game to me

hmmm but you play WoW ..WoW features elves and gnomes ...are you sure it isnt a kids game?

Ah yes, merciless killing, pillaging and a bad turn of character for bad deeds done dirt cheap. The stereotypical kids game!

Seriously, what the ****. No.

I agree that there are too many good games coming out very soon.

I'm going to be buying:
Fable 2
Far Cry 2
Fallout 3
Gears of War 2
Call of Duty: World at War
Left 4 dead.

All within the next few weeks. There goes my money and my free time.

Merciless Killings?? Havent seen that in any videos, all Ive seen is this elf like dude walking about talking to people and slo mo sword fights.... thats it really.

ive only noticed this game coz it got 10/10 on Eurogamer so there gotta be something about it but dont know what to make of it. Looking at the videos on youtube it does look like an adventure game where you go about doing quests... YAAWWWNN

I mean whats the major selling point here?

I probably won't be able to play any of the great games coming out until December due to study, lame.

You are aware that The Lost Chapters came out for XB1 too, right..?

Your actions define your character. If you go around killing civilians, people will fear you and show it because you are now a bad ass mother trucka. On the other hand, doing good deeds for everyone makes them love you and respect you, being the true hero. It all affects the gameplay based on how good/evil your character is.

Also, it's a mature rated game, and is far from a 'kiddy' game...

I don't think a company would make a "kiddy" game with same-sex marriages - the censors would pwn it.

Ahhhh I like the idea about being your own charachter.... kinda like Black & White.... hmmm might pick this up whemn it goes cheaper

That would make sense given that it's a Lionhead (Peter Molyneux) game.

Edge say 9/10 btw. Out of all the great games coming out, this sits nicely at the top of my list.

Adventure - check
Stunning visuals - check
Co-op - check

:bounce:

I don't think you get what I'm saying, or what YOU are saying - kids games don't, or at least to my knowledge, have killings in them, be them merciless or slow-mo.

I can't wait to own all the property in Albion, that's still in isn't it?

I guess you've never played the first one? It sounds good on paper but makes no real difference at all.

The first one wasn't a bad game though, just nothing like what they had told us it would be like.

So basically if you've missed all the hype you'll likely find a great game, if you listened to all the hype you'll likely find a good game.

Well from what I've read from people who got the game already due to stores breaking street dates it's pretty much what fable should've been. So im pretty cool with that.

I haven't actually payed any attention to this game at all so my hype right now is below even zero. I enjoyed Fable but thinking back on it now I can't think as to why I did. I'll give this a spin later down the line after the priority one games are out the way with.

Waiting for PC version. Not rich enough for 360 yo.

Probably gonna just rent this one IGN's review was not very promising at all!

Buying it tomorrow, I can't wait. This will have to tide me over for a while, I can't afford all the damn games coming out.

After the enormous circlejerk reviewers had around GTA 4 I can't really take their scores seriously anymore. I'm hoping Fable 2 really is that good, but I'm not listening to reviews this time.

Will this ever come out on PC?

If so, I shall pay attention to this, due to my faith in Eurogamer reviews.

Sounds awesome, but the IGN review mentions that coop is a bit of a dissapointment, which was what I was looking forward to the most. No online yet, and the offline is a little limited - the person joining doesn't keep their character's appearence (they have to chose from a pre-set list), or their weapons. Seems a bit... stupid, really, especially since so much emphasis is placed on those things in the single player. Hopefully they patch it sooner or later.

Also sounds like it could be kind of easy-mode, but I trust the Eurogamer review that it'll still be fun regardless. Bioshock had the bloody insta-res tanks and it still managed to feel pretty suspenseful to me (except the last quarter).
