I gave blood on Friday, my fourth time so far. Admitted, it was more to get a sympathy vote out of a woman in my life (Who stated shortly after that "I was a wonderful person, and that I should always believe it no matter what other people say". I rock.), but no matter how many times I give blood, it freaks me out. Something about knowing there's a needle sitting in my arm, slowly drawing the life-blood from my body as I have to open and close my hand to encourage it. And the more you think about it, the more you can feel the needle in there, jarring against the muscles in my arm. Still, the feeling you get knowing you've probably saved a number of lives just from that one session.
Still, I give blood regularly. Ever given blood yourselves? There are few people I've actually become aquainted who've got the balls to do it. And they get my eternal respect.
I'm a B negative, if anybody's interested.
