Civilians rush the Combine forces, obviously trying to beat them up and steal their guns.

Thx for your comments everyone, i really enjoyed making this
(tell me video games don't promote violence, lol :))

lol sweet. Must of been a real FPS killer ;)

yep had to run it slow down it 20 times to get any decent FPS. But it was even better, i had more time to take some nice screenshots.

So you slowed time down with host_timescale? I'm gonna try this today. Which map was that? Doesn't really matter as one will be able to create these sequences in different maps, of course.

yes. try host_timescale 0.05, you can actually see bullets moving.
(at least projectiles from plasma rifle can be seen moving, i'm not so sure regular bullets have any traveltime)

I used the d1_prison_03 map (or maybe it was d2 i'm not sure)

Firstly, why in the hell would you do this?

Secondly, doesn't that little red aux power meter being up all the time basically tell us all that you have a pirated version of the game...?

Ahahahaa, pwnt.

Maybe because i thought it was fun?
Is there anything wrong in testing the limits of Source engine

Well yes, i have bought a legal version but it's on DVD, and my dvd-rom recently broke down so i can't play the legal one until i get it fixed.
I do not consider downloading a game i already paid for piracy.

Testing the limits of the Source engine is one thing, perhaps by filling a room with high poly models of ponies.

It's quite another to arrange an execution of the cast... lol

Some would say it was a little on the odd side...

So killing Combine soldiers throughout the whole game is ok?

I just figured they wanted some revenge on the Resistance

Awesome! I request a video! :D

Glad you liked it :)

I'm afraid i can't make a video, because i don't have a very high end system and even with the extreme slowdown i had pretty bad FPS during that scene

Maybe someone else will pick up the idea?

Good shit, shame you had to download the warez version. My mates excuses is a little better then "the dvd broke" but i can understand..

Slow it down, demo it, add some sad choir music as they get mowed down.

How do I move more quickly while timescale is set to 0.05? I did the same as you but only if i could've moved faster.

Valve does. And you didn't pay for the game, admit it!

I don't think he'd come here and post this if he hadn't paid for the game. He'd be posting stuff like "omfg why doesn't this work, ai not moving!!"

LOOOOOL true. But i still don't think that he paid for the game... it would take too long for him to download the game.

try changing the hl2_walkspeed parameter

other useful commands:

ai_disable - prevents npc from shooting or moving until you have set them up. you can then activate ai again with ai_disable command

cl_ragdoll_collide 1 - useful for staking heaps of bodies (otherwise they just fall thru each other)

notarget - prevents ai from shooting at you

Yeah, knew them all already, but thanks.

You know... there are these things called broadband connections , but I still don't believe this guy has pirated the game.

A set-piece like this would be fantastic in an expansion. Just a little something to reinforce the oppressiveness of the Combine...

you know, something about your screenshots, make me think of the movie the rock, where the soldiers just kill eachother, thats too hot baby...

you know, someone can make a fun movie of it, just like the rock. you can make the map etc,, and the sounds owned

i had fun with head crabs ,runing zombies ...vs those floor guns ,
I made a huge room with these in and let hell brake loose
the head crabs and the running zombies won by nocking the guns over :D

lol nice, perhaps this should have been included in teh game :p

Hehe...coool...
This whole setting reminds me of Equilibrium...

some sick sh*t man

anyways shows the power of AI programming at VALVe.

too bad the screenshots are so dark, but that's the problem with HL2 since the beginning - gamma correction is way to limited, and I didn't find a console command for that...
