Explosion in London Underground

Hope you guys down South are all OK.
It's a sense of revulsion at such wicked acts. The feeling that right now the perpetrators are patting themselves on the back at a job well done.
The slaughter and maiming of innocent people planned and carried out without thought or care.
I hope their God will forgive them, as anybody with any sense of humanity won't.
I hope they rot in Hell

What are these ****ing dipshits trying to prove

Consolations go out to the families of dead and injured

Woah, racist there. I think you should show some respect....

It isn't racist, an Islam Terrorist and murder cell has admitted it planted the bombs. But they maybe Islamic terrorists, but they do it because they enjoy power and murder and it's got nothing to do with religion or anything like that.

Wow this is so terrible, my thoughts and prayers go out to everybody affected by this.

The people responsible for this are cowardly ****s, the scum of the earth. Its amazing how incredibly inhumane, cruel, and downright evil some people are.

If I was Islamic, I would be extremely offended by what he said. He could have said terrorists, but he has Islamophobia. He has to assume that terrorists of Islamic descent were responsible. If he just said terrorists, I would have been fine.

I don't think there was any racism there, intended or not. Let's try and keep on topic guys and ditch any petty grievances with one another.

Having said that I've already noticed how careful the police are being about knocking out the "Islamic Terrorist" generic suspect profile. When asked at a press conference earlier, one police spokeman was careful to say that he didn't believe that there was any such thing as a true Muslim who followed Islamic teachings and who was ALSO a terrorist. They're obviously worried about some racist backlash.

London's by and large a pretty tolerant place, but I'm still worried that some idiots are going to use this event as a trigger to push their bigoted agendas. I have the same fears about Blair and his govt, too...I hope the country doesn't get suckered into ID cards over this.

Whatever's said, London might have been slightly rattled by this thing and some families and lives have been ruined, but it seems so far that the terrorists have FAILED in their aim of causing terror. We're more resilient than this. I'm considering going ahead with my tube trip into zone 1 tomorrow as usual.

That's the spirit. Like I said, by fearing, you let the terrorists win because they then achieve their goal. After 9/11 a lot of people I know were scared shitless.

I am showing respect in my own personal way, but I don't see the point in telling the whole world that I am doing so because I expect everyone else is doing the same.

It's like the make poverty history bands- most people now only wear it as a fashion statement or to create some kind of status for them.

People show respect in a variety of different ways, so stop with this rose next to your name shite and concentrate on what's really important here.

I have to agree with Murray here, sorry Smoke :|

People have absolutely no moral responsibility or obligation to put a flower or whatever next to their name, and if they don't do it it does not mean that they're less of a person that you, any more so than someone who wears an armband to support One.org or cancer victims is more moral than someone who doesn't.

37 confirmed death.

700 injured.

(numbers expected to rise)

From CNN

PS- i didnt read the other posts so this may be posted already...

Ken Livingstone just made another nice speech.

"Whatever you do, however many you kill, you will fail."

thats really terrible and quite scary. A brass band im in usually go to london for a competition every year. Luckily it was cancelled this year, but if it wasnt we would have been right where one of the bombs went off. It went off right outside the hotel we go to.

How do they go about proving who did it? I mean anyone could say they did it, not sure why they'd want to, but there really isn't any concrete proof is there?

Correct. Aside from that website and the claim of responsibility, I doubt the police really know anything atm. That is, provided their claims about having no warning are true. Have to wait on forensics.

there's always a money trail to follow, and you could see who bought the materials to make the bomb after they identify what was used

...and find the receipt?

Wouldn't it all be on the black market and stuff?

no, not necessarily, lots of bombs are made of simple, household items that can be traced back to a store

most likely black market arms, brought into the uk via a boat now as air traffice is to secure, or the channel tunnel:p

yeah that is kinda scary, so high up lets hope it wasnt an entire person ;(

Awful London, awful. The western world stands with you. put those royal marines to good use and kill some terrorists. (but dont take over any countries). this is horrible, but the terrorists will get theirs. not a fun thing to wake up too ;[

fo sure gh0st on this I agree with you I hope those dicks get their asses kicked

This is terribly sad, tragic that the terrorists have been able to commit these awful crimes...

Sweden's thoughts and condolences are with you, London and UK. :(

It's a shame to see the back of your old avatar, gh0st, but it's cool to see so much support from Americans, Swedes, and people from all over, cheers
