Only because admin's are leet. Won't be available for normal users, sorry.

Going to speak to Munro though, we might be able to allow users to select the London avatar, but not upload any that are bigger than 50x50

You're no admin. You're a Newbie!

:|

Let me check...

I'm not worthy of that title anymore, I've started doing stuff :p

Damn our productive staff, with their dedication, and their work ethic...

just got back from work and havent had an opportunity to check in yet. i heard about the tragedy early in the day but havent had any news since then. has everyone from london been in contact here? there were too many pages to go through. i hope you all are well and that this is the last of the violence that will reach you. we are all thinking of you.

It seems to me all HL2.net folks who are in or around London are O.K. and their relations and friends in the city are fine too. I'm glad all of the posts in this thread (That I have read anyway, my deepest sympathy to those who may have been affected in the worst way possible) have conveyed that message.

I was watching the news for a couple of hours when I got home from work. Upsetting stuff.

Had to get to the pub for a while, blow off a bit steam.

Seems to be calmer now around here. Queens of the stone age cancelled their gig tonight unsurprisingly. But still seems to be higher security about. Hopefully college will be normal tomorrow, today it was just panic and chaos. No one wants to work while everything is blowing up. Thanks for avatars again Chris.

This mornin I was going to Herts for a Uni-Meeting. I took the uni-Bus from Edgware (North). The ammount of people where there is unbelievable, 100s of passengers stuck tyring to get down to the city. At least 20 PoliceOfficers where there too.

Its sad.

Don't actually live in London, live in Eton Wick, which is right next to dorney which is where the rowing is held so if this was to continue i hope its not any closer, was actually buying a new graphics card when i heard, luckily i have no family in london, just some friends which as far as i know are ok, sad to hear about the deaths though :(, just hope everyone from london here is ok too.

QOTSA cancelled? That's the icing on the bloody cake, those terrorists will pay!

i hate terrorists.

we feed them, clothe them, look after them.

all while they plan to attack us

im so angry

Don't think that your government is just going to sit down and take this. Everyone involved is seriously going to get what's comming to them. It might take a while, but if they're connected to Al Qaeda, eventually, we'll get 'em.

Will it be easier catching them because London is so much closer than the US? Or will it be the same thing?

Stupid terrorists. Do they know if they were suicide attacks yet?

Thank god it wasnt a madrid.

I was on the underground only two stops from Kings Cross when the bombs went off.

And I've just got home after walking 3 hours through Central London. As horrible as it's all been, people here are amazing - everyone is helping everyone and making the best of a terrible situation. The pubs are overflowing - people are gathering together and standing tall. Yesterday they may have won the Olympics, and I was in Trafalgar Square when the annoucement was made, but today shows how this city really does stand together when it really counts.

Amazing.

I work for a bank in Canary Wharf - the new financial district of London & a prime terrorist target. It has not been reported in the news yet, but there are a number of reports from staff at Citigroup (just around the corner from me) that two suspected suicide bombers were shot dead outside their building.

Canary Wharf is locked down - no trains or buses. I'm looking outside my window at the free river ferry service that has been put on to take people east & west along the Thames, & the queue is enormous - over a two-hour wait, & no bags (even handbags) allowed. it is strangely calm nonetheless - I think it is fair to say that the British do live up to their reputation for stoicism in crises.

It is a surreal situation here, but the emergency services have been planning for this for years. So far, the response seems quite organised & efficient, which is not typical for this country.

We will fight in our trains, we will fight in our buses but we, Londoners, will never surrender!

Although I wholeheartedly agree that it must be extremely difficult to prevent a terrorist from carrying out an atrocity if they are determined to commit one and that the only people that should accept responsibility are those that perpetrated it I can't help feeling that our intelligence sources knew something was afoot.

Yesterday late afternoon, my partner and I drove back through London after a mini-break to Brighton rather than face the M25. Hackney seemed to be crawling with police cars and I even saw an armed officer patrolling the streets, which seems ironic considering the bus involved in the blast at Tavistock Place has been reported as the number 30 Hackney to Marble Arch service.

geographical locations makes little difference in an age of aircraft and technology.

Just heard on CNN that authorities are uncovering evidence of timers used on the bombs.

It looks like it may not have been suicide bombers after all.

It's still possible to catch these bastards.

All I'm saying is that if they're still alive, we/you/somebody is going to, at the very least, try to find them and I think, chances are, they will be found.

I am proud of the way my fellow countrymen and women acted today! Mr. Blair has done us proud and so has every british working person in that area!

Brits have delt with the blitz (WW2 for you young'ns) and the IRA and we delt with this the same way we delt with todays incident.

Contacted loved ones to make sure they are ok... then went to work to get the job done and then go home.

It was all over the BBC about the islamic militant website claiming london and the whole UK was swept with paranoia shock and fear. what a load of crap as anyone will tell you it was treated like a normal day by most people.

OH and the emergency services... I doubt ill ever have the pleasure but.. fu*kin well done !

How so? Because we convinced the UK to back us in the "war on terror"?

It was sarcasm you dumb yankee. :|

Let's not assign blame until we've figured out the damage...

Holy shit, this happened last night, this morning and this is on page 35.

That's how awesome this forum is. But why isn't my "Mothers will do anything..." thread up to at least page 50 yet?!!??!

Well, to be fair, most of the bulk of the thread occured in the first couple hours or so.....as we all frantically tried to find out the extent of the situation.

Only page 13 for me :|

Guess my pages have too many posts.

Wow, I've woken up to what seems to be a really electric mood. Nobody is scared, as such, mostly just angry and unwilling to let the terrorists scare them, or change their lifestyles.

It's a shame the official numbers just keep on rising though. I woke up and the number of official injured has shot up dramatically, and some of the papers are reporting 70+ dead.

People around here don't feel anything. their reaction: "again?"

which makes me think of this qoute by stalin: "The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of millions is just a stastistic"

Yeah we ain't gonna let 'em break our spirit! Been listening on Radio 1 this morning and the vibe has totally changed! :imu:

bloody idiots come over here and blow up innocent people? I mean whats the point, because of their stupid crappy fertiliser made bombs now thousands of people in their countries are gonna be killed.

I think it's going to be a case of home grown here. At the very least, they will be European. I'm confident of that.

I had a horrible day in London yesterday. And it looks as though we've lost a friend - although we still have no news of his location. He is only 21 and it's a ****ing nightmare for his family.

I live and work in central London, but I've gone home to my folks for the weekend. My poor mother has reacted quite badly to all of this.

And Tony's speech was awful. Just...awful...I...have...never...witnessed...such...bad...over...acting...
