Downloading. Hope its good enough to tear me away from BF2. Sadly I dont think sex could - so it better be damn good.

Heh after the hour of waiting, comes the extra 1 hr 30 mins of downloading... Yay for slow DSL :(

18% complete with another 1 hr 15 mins to go.

BF2 was pretty good.. It has a bunch of little quirks that just don't make it truly addictive I feel.. Plus the fact nobody uses squads of VoIP makes it suck to be Commander... But that's for a different topic :D
 
Wait... This is only the multiplayer? What the hell could the multiplayer possibly be about? Since there is no flying copters or planes or riding in boats or tanks, I don't think this will be that great..
 
I'm counting on you guys to tell me whether this is worth downloading or not. The SP looks pretty cool, but I dunno about MP. Seems like it'd be your standard fare.
 
my computer restarts after 15mins of gameplay,lol

My Specs:

AMD Athlon 3200+ 2.21ghz
1gig RAM, 160 gb space
ATI Radeon x850 ($500 dolla card)
WinXp, 6 fans inside
 
Not really interested in the MP, although the SP looks pretty f*ckin' good.
 
I juse hope the SP doesn't end up being like Doom 3 or Halo 2. You know, one trick pony's with a few good levels at the start and the rest being lame.
 
:dozey: I don't like the MP, slo-mo is great though. Yeah, the game IS a beast, so upgrade them PC's!

You must never have played with HL2.NET clan, check the BF2 Forum.


Also I stopped waiting in line for my download. I have a beta account but probably will participate way later on
 
I've played it. The MP is fairly mediocre in all honesty. The graphics didn't seem massively impressive, but there weren't any scaleable options so I suspect they've all been default set to low.

The weapons damage, slow motion and close combat all work fairly well, but the levels are absolutly tiny and the game is restricted to DM and TDM modes, which quickly starts to grind. Also, there are proximity mines in the game, which aren't much fun when people put them on the spawn points.
 
ill try it although the sp is what interests me for this, 38 minutes wait, yay. :|

Actually asked myself if I should get a one-month subscribtion to fileplanet just for the beta. Looking extremely forward to the singleplayer, but want the beta to see how my puter runs it.

just had run through on my own. setup my own server and just looked around the environment etc.

3.2ghx p4
gig of ddr2 ram
x800xt pci-e

everything maxed, 4aa and 16af, res 1152/864

in the test i got an average of 31fps.

in the game i created i got like 20fps, eek, better drop some settings.
Map isnt even that detailed tbh.
 
you know what's funny? i just d/led the cracked beta like a week ago, and now its public, too bad its not that great, I expect more from the SP though, this is just to show off the graphics, which are certainly nice

its 500mb i think for the d/l, 820mb it took up in my hd.
 
Rather disappointed with the MP. Fairly average stuff really. Good graphics but not as impressive as they were last year...seems only a little bit better then Far Cry too.

Ohh C`mon! If a game is not able to run a least above 60 fps with a computer like yours then something is wrong with this game, even the graphics are not that great
