Ok...I just got done playing for...I don't know how long. Since whenever I made my last post...and all I can say is...are we playing different games?
This game rocks hardcore
First...graphics.
Here are my system specs:
2ghz AMD Barton
512mb pc2700 ram
Ati 9600 256mb
Unfortunately I can't run it at full detail at 1024...I clicked auto-detect then boosted the particle effects and particle bouncing back up to max. It runs pretty smoothly, maybe about 30fps.
Graphics are solid. A little rough due to my downgraded graphics but still good. Explosions look kickass and all the bullet impacts and particle effects look simply amazing. If there's one thing I don't like...it's the character models. Not because they look bad...but because the animation is all lower body and they don't look as...how should I say...tactical as CS:S models do. The characters seem to be standing too upright and it feels very DM'ish. That aside, the guns.
The guns you can choose from when you spawn are:
Dual Pistols
SMG
Assault Rifle
Combat Shotgun
Nailgun (when you kill people near walls they'll stick to the wall )
Plasma Weapon (seems kinda cheap, one-shot kill most of the time, seems like awp - but if you miss you're dead)
Semi-Auto Assault Rifle
...I think there's one more
There are also weapons about the maps - Weapons I've seen so far:
Rocket Launcher (launches a salvo of 3-4 missiles)
Some kind of cannon (one-shot kill if it hits, somewhat inaccurate though, fires slow - you miss you die - it gibs upon direct hits - big cloud of blood )
There's also regular grenades - you spawn with one
Proxy mines
Remote mines

There are 3 maps to play as well. An under-construction building, a docks area, and an office. Each level is a lot of fun and has plenty of debris and such flying around in big firefights.
Most of you know how team-slowmo works, that's what I was playing most of the time. It's badass to turn on slowmo and just blast like 2-3 enemies with headshots (every weapon can be zoomed for better accuracy). Slowmo isn't too good though. You can be killed pretty quickly if you face too many enemies or if you don't aim well and kill quickly. When you go slowmo everything becomes kinda granulated but sharp and bullet streams and explosions look that much cooler
There's also the kung fu. Jump and right-click to do a flying kick like you've seen in movies or crouch and right -click to to a slide. Each kill in one hit but it's pretty easy to miss or get killed as you do it. Each weapon has a melee attack as well if you alt-fire while just running around.
I can't see this game turning out bad from how cool firefights are in this MP beta...and I certainly don't see how some of you guys find it boring or bad.
If you were looking for FEAR to have cool gunfights, debris flying everywhere, fun weapons, cool kung-fu...then this certainly should appeal to you. I'm already glad I shelled out a bit of money for the subscription.
