Granted both games are coming out on the same day (or 1 day difference ...), which one are you going to play first?

FEAR for sure. I want a good SP FPS and FEAR is certainly going to deliver judging on the demo.

I second that. The SP part looks very promising. Could be the best SP campaign ever.

fear was cool but Q4 might be cooler so we must wait a lil longer

Indeed

Quake 4 has a chance at being good. Note I said a chance it could also be a giant flop like Doom 3.

FEAR actually looks and plays good (from what I've seen from the demo atleast). It should take off right from the bat.

I've seen a review for FEAR and think Quake 4 may be able to beat that.

Played both demos for fear, and the beta. It's nothing completely spectacular, mp is fairly stock standard, but the sp looks solid, is fun to play and has a scary theme mixed in. Quake 4 will probably be good too, but I'll be waiting on a demo.

I'm still mad at the fear demo :( I just got my 6600GT and now a game comes out and destroys my card. It's the only game so far I havent been able to play at max or close to max settings at a decent fps.

Quake 4 FTW, i really miss the headache giving moments in Quake 2 =>

I played the FEAR demo last night for 3 hours straight or something, because I was trying to perform cool stunts, such as shooting soldiers in their knees so they would blast away while performing somersaults and shit... It was awesome! I think I'll enjoy FEAR more than I've ever enjoyed HL2

FEAR deffinatly has that feel of pure pleasure when you take out the guards in slow mo. feels brill especially when you throw a nade in there face ... "ffffff********kkk...." nice to know they shit themselves as much as you do

Personally i'll probably go for Quake 4, though DoD:S is next on my hit list, and i will still have to combine that with my BF2 clan  too much stuff, so little time :O

Voted for F.E.A.R, buying both.

F.E.A.R better Sp
Quake 4 better Mp

Also getting Serious Sam 2 and Timeshift.

The only reason Quake 4 has better mp is because of e-sports and it being the world tour game. FEAR has a good mp as well.

I haven't really heard all that much about Quake IV so I don't know. I'll probably test out the demo if such a thing will show up, and if not then I'll just have to test it out at an internet café.

Btw... is it true that FEAR will hit the shelves on Oct 18th?

Basing my opinion on the FEAR demo, it's just another boring linear shooter with dull generic soldier enemies. The graphics aren't even nice. I prefered Doom 3 by a mile.

.

Yes, I thought the demo sucked as well.

I can't say Quake IV looks that impressive, looks mostly like Doom 3, but with more polygons.
F.E.A.R. naturally.

It's all about multiplayer.

It's all about Quake Wars.

Oh yes, and DOD:S ^_^
Here's to Caen!!

I'm not really into either one anymore. I'm going to wait for Prey.

Well get your waiting hat on because it'll be a while for Prey. TBA 2006 right now...

Quake IV will finish off your already-destroyed-by-FEAR card

Quake 4 has worse gfx then Doom 3. Or at least from what i read/saw/heard.

Well, it has more polygons and higher res textures, that's a fact, but it may look uglier because the art-direction is worst.

fear single player demo i thought was really good, but the multiplayer demo seemed to be pretty boring. Going for quake 4.

fear = cheese
the mp is alright, sp is sorta dull but all the 'scarey' stuff especially the kid got prehistoric the 190 billionth time it was done.

Ya'll may want to check out my thread regarding Quake 4 - it might make you reconsider your positions.

no, just because one review gave it a bad score isn't going to change my mind. Can't always go by them anyways.

Well, when one the most respected PC Gaming magazine in the world gives it such a bad review, chances are it isn't goin to be that good.

same I have always gone by PC gamer...they are the best, most respected mag out there..(though I think they were a bit of hl2 fanboys the way Official Xbox Magazine are extreme halo fanboys).

pc gamers reviews have never sent me in the wrong direction..

Both look pretty stupid, although Fear is less so.
I'll skip them both and wait for Aftermath - unless Fear gets hugely good reviews and word-o-mouth.

In its first review by PC Gamer (US), FEAR got a score of 92%.

I'm willing to wait, at least that means they're working hard on it.
