Fallout 3 DLC announced

Talk for yourself, it's fun.

I think he quite obviously is speaking for himself and he doesn't find it fun. I pretty much agree with him, though I did often squeal with delight at blowing people limbs off, but the game had become far, far too stale at that point for me to bother trying to salvage anything from it, so I just rampaged for 5 minutes per night then turned the game off.

It's pretty amusing doing it in previously peaceful settlements.

All up I think I'd like a turn-based mode done in VATS, applied to everyone, AND WITH A GODDAMN BUTTON TO CANCEL ACTIONS SO I CAN STOP FRIGGIN' SHOOTING THE WALL.

Someone will mod it in.

or fix it so that you target only when not in front of one.

No, you line up the target while they're in range, but because NPCs still move in VATS they can move in such a way that suddenly your highly intelligent targeting system will start shooting the wall that is literally right in front of you.

Horrible part of VATS tbh

Thought some might be interested in this last bit:
IGN: Not to spoil the end of Fallout 3, but extending the story in the Broken Steel download might be a bit tricky. Will the main character still continue through for that storyline? Will he or she be usable in the other downloads?

Gardiner: Based on a lot of feedback, we're going to allow the player to continue on after the main quest ends in the Broken Steel DLC. While a lot of details still have to be sorted, this will allow the player to continue on and play in the Wasteland enjoying the side and freeform quests, along with any new downloadable content we have planned in the future.

I wonder if that means there might be some actual alternate ending...that doesn't mean death...or "you're not a real hero" type thing.

Probably they've understood that their story writer sucks rancid goat balls and allowed to send Fawkes into the chamber.

They don't have a story writer. They have a guy that throws darts at a wall full of ideas written by the devs.

lol I still remember how pissed you were at that. I sort of agree but I saw at least some of the thought process they used, not that it can be any clearer but the player him/herself must ingest that.

I only started playing it on Christmas day when I got it, so the DLC seems really quick for me :D

All I remember is that I fell unconsious; but as I was taking Rad-X and Rad Away, someone could of spent the whole of 5 seconds to drag me out of the chamber,

Whats-her-name could of pulled you out at the cost of her own life
considering she was the alternative to go into the chamber anyway, it shouldn't be much of a problem

There plenty o' options to avoid being a pile of goop. It's a matter of the game allowing you.

Isn't it widely known?

Fawkes is a FEMALE, or what human parts of her that are left are, at least.

Well, started off as.

Hack the PC outside her holding cell in '87 if you don't believe me.

The best part being that they make it a point to show you that he can walk through radiation no problem an hour earlier, but the time where it would come the most handy:

Fawkes: IT IS YOUR DESTINY AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

**** you fawkes

Doesn't look too shit - and its out very soon... Will be interesting to see how they tackle the "no prior knowledge" idea of most Fallouts.

I wonder how many people will mindlessly repeat the phrase "morally ambiguous", when in reality, this is about as far from it as it can get.
