It's kind of sad it becomes the only solution for making Beth's games appealing, don't you think?
So... gross negligence leading to deaths is in some way comparable to releasing an imperfect game?My point was, that if the developer considered such a system worthy of releasing, then it's what counts. Repairing it later doesn't change the fact that a worse version was considered fit for giving out to the players.
Kind of like a car company releasing a car with a shitty brake system and then refitting them all with a working version.
But of course. I will not tolerate perfect condition TV sets with pristine image quality in a building burned down in a nuclear fire in my recreational gamin'. No sir!

The fact that you would even make such a comparison shows you need to reread the definition of "games".
OMG I can't murder children in fallout 3 but I could in the other fallout games!!!! baaaawwwwwwwwww
Why would I? I don't care one way or the other about Bethseda or how they work.

Then don't spam.
God damnit, if you can't stone a five year old to death in turned based combat from an isometric view, then it isn't ****ing Fallout. PERIOD.
Then don't spam.
That's the least of our concern.
Spam is posting for the sake of posting. Which is exactly what he did.
I was challenging an atrocious metaphor, you don't need to care about the specific argument to do that. You just need to care about discussion in general.
still Not A Proper Sequel (a Shooter), But The Game Starts To Warm Up On Me.
Yea, welcome to a horrible replication of Fallout 1.
I tried to play Fallout a few months back... couldn't do it. Same thing that happens to me with Planescape: Torment... these supposedly great games and I get little ways into them then my "this is stupid"-ometer explodes, crashing and uninstalling the game swiftly.
I've liked all I've seen of FO3, though.
I played Fallout 1 and 2 and Planescape Torment in the last year and thoroughly enjoyed them.
Kind of like a car company releasing a car with a shitty brake system and then refitting them all with a working version.
It IS shitty, they haven't even got a proper LOD system in it.
looks great, didnt notice the lack of shadows and what's the big deal about having a functioning tv when there's a tv station broadcasting old tv programs. it's just setting the mood
IGN said:Before I go on, though, please understand -- calling Fallout 3 one of the most impressive videogames of the year in a season that has already brought us Metal Gear Solid 4 and Grand Theft Auto IV isn't meant to be hyperbole. Even in its unoptimized stage (all the content is there, development is just about polish from now until October), Fallout 3 is still one of the most engaging and playable titles this side of Liberty City... and I've only tested it for about an hour.
Bold proclamations for such a small amount of hands-on time, yes, but words I'll stick behind as a fan on the Elder Scrolls. In fact, Fallout 3 is very much Oblivion in a post-apocalyptic world. So if you didn't like that game, or the series for that matter, then ignore everything I've said thus far and go read something else. If, however, you spent 200+ hours in Cyrodiil like I did, or just love western-style RPGs, then you should keep going -- because your next big adventure is just over the next hill.
