Far Cry only on DVD?

I think this is awsome but I'm alittle skeptical. Didn't they say they wanted to keep the CD-ROM format because it was more popular? What do you guys think?

hmmm, does that mean it's comming out on DVD?...only?... Then why does every single site still label it under CD-ROM software? I'm confused. Especially by you dancing around a maypole

i doubt its only available on dvd only. too few people have dvd roms and i found out awhile ago you cant buy cdburners that play dvds, at least from futureshop (canadas version of bestbuy) anymore. anyways they'll probably do a special version thats on dvd - 3 cd installs is a bit much.

That sucks ... I guess I won't be buying the game. I have a DVD drive on my laptop but not the desktop, guess I can't play it.

I might be able to burn the ISO on my laptop and then run it through Dameon on my desktop though. Sure as hell not gonna buy a DVD player for one game.

You'll need a DVD player in the near future because games are getting huge (3 or 4 CDs are sometimes needed if you want to have a game that looks good and has a story of decent length). That is, unless those 27GB Blu-ray discs (or those huge 90GB+ discs) become standard...

Well I'm glad it's comming on DVD.

If you've got a PC good enough to play the game I guess they expect you to have a DVD-Rom device.

I have a PC more than good enough to run Far Cry, it runs the demo fine. But I custom built my PC, and when you do that you can save money by not including the useless crap they put in retail computers. One of those useless things is a DVD Rom, this is the first program that I've had any interest in that is going to be DVD only - and I can probably find a way around that.

I suppose it depends on how you use your PC, but for me the usefulness of a DVD-Rom or DVD-RW far out-ways the cost.

its been comfirmed that thats bs it will see shelf life in CD-ROM and DVD-ROM
