Far Cry Water Problem..

Asus A7N8X Motherboard
Athlon XP 2800+
OCZ 512 MB DDR Ram PC-3200
Geforce 4 TI 4200 (Latest drivers installed)
Windows XP (no sp2, or any updates of any kind really, except for four seperate files to prevent the RPC Shutdown error)
1.1 patch for Far Cry is installed

Let me know if you guys need anymore info..

This has never happened to be before, until I just recently installed the game. My guess is it's the new Nvidia drivers because I believe I've had the 1.1 patch installed before without this problem.

Download the LATEST patch for Far Cry...1.3.

Yeah, especially with Far Cry, it can get pretty pissy when it comes to all the different types of video cards.

As for upgrading the video card, I have been thinking about it, but I want a new monitor and WoW for Christmas..and everything still runs so great on this video. Plus it looks good too...I really don't see any need to upgrade yet.

I know I can upgrade and get a few more effects I would notice a little bit, and get a little more FPS...but HL2 runs great on high, and CS: Source runs decent as well (although I doubt I'll play much of that game..too frustrating, I'll stick with 1.6 for now, and even the amount of time I played that is limited).

Anyways I'll try the new patch and see how it works out, thanks again.

EDIT: Works great now! I switched it back to Very High now so it looks awesome.

I thought I went to Ubisoft today though and it said the last update was 1.1!

Wow the 4200 is still pretty good but high settings on HL2 and Far Cry that's really good for it.
