Farcry-a buy?

I love Far Cry. It's the first fps I've ever played that truly takes advantage of next-gen technology, AI and especially physics. Play the demo first though - some would argue that the core game mechanics suck (I don't argue this).

Oh, and don't bother unless you have an utterly ninja PC.

Oh2: If you want a perfect difficulty level, switch on auto-balancing. The enemy AI will customise itself to how good you are.

not only does the mp suck, crytek are full of shit when it comes to any form of support (mods or patches, or even info)

the sp is fun once through, and its got good gfx, and better overall than d3 in my opinion... however its just not worth it.

The only thing that justifys spending 40$ on a game is the MP, unless they KICK YOUR MOUTH WITH AWESOME SP--which is why i pirated d3 a day before it came out, didnt like it and heard the Mp was shit so i didnt buy it, so i dont think ill buy FC

after purchasing Doom3 I wish I had done the same... in fact I did dl the game like 3 days before release... and it had a major virus that shredded my pc... if that had not happened I would not have bought Doom3.

Pirateing games? Despicable!

Generally I feel a game is worth buying for SP alone. Especially if you get it cheap via mail order...I'm still on 56k so multiplayer is not an issue for me unless it's HL mods. If you buy games for their SP and you have a good PC I'd recomment buying FC. The demo is an extremely good indicator of whether you'd like the game. So play it first.
