Aaah thankyou so much Sidewinder! My Firefox sometimes goes offensively slow, and sometimes doesn't connect to the page, and I have to keep trying - and it'll come up eventually. It all seems to be fine now

Heh, I just got firefox today. Its better than I thought.

Actually I thought it was going to be completely different from IE... but on the surface its really not. I like that.... means I dont have to learn anything new unless I want to. :thumbs:

set browser.turbo.enabled to true, it makes Firefox display every bit of the page as soon as it receives it, even if it didn't yet receive the full site. Small catch: every once in a hundred times or so, the layout gets screwed up, reload will fix this.

Another one:

Add this to your Firefox shortcut:

/Prefetch:1

Like this: "D:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /Prefetch:1

Makes it use the prefetch feature of Windows, makes the initial startup faster.

Although IE is the worst one out there its faster than firefox both in UI and building the page (loading int)
I could easily notice that at pre-hl2 era (that is, before I get my new rig)
