Faster FireFox

Works wonders! Thank you for this...really usefull!

Aaah thankyou so much Sidewinder! :D My Firefox sometimes goes offensively slow, and sometimes doesn't connect to the page, and I have to keep trying - and it'll come up eventually. It all seems to be fine now :D

Thanks again

Thank you Side, works wonders. What's the catch though, there must be some kind of catch to it.

Erm, I don't see anything different. Although I have had a number of whiskies.

2 words...

Internet Explorer.

*runs*

Heh, I just got firefox today. Its better than I thought.

Actually I thought it was going to be completely different from IE... but on the surface its really not. I like that.... means I dont have to learn anything new unless I want to. :thumbs:

Holy crap, pages open with zero load time. much quicker then it was before.

Note: Firefox was allready much faster then IE.

Ugh...ok ok..I give in.

Give me the link to download the latest firefox. :|

Wow...that really is an impressive tweak. Makes wasting my life much easier.

Opera is like a steaming pile of freshly laid manure, covered in vomit, on fire.

..Not that I've ever tried it... :LOL:

Opera = ads = evil.

Registered opera version without ads>firefox+mozilla+ie+any_other_browser_you_can_name

Another tip:

set browser.turbo.enabled to true, it makes Firefox display every bit of the page as soon as it receives it, even if it didn't yet receive the full site. Small catch: every once in a hundred times or so, the layout gets screwed up, reload will fix this.

Another one:

Add this to your Firefox shortcut:

/Prefetch:1

Like this: "D:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /Prefetch:1

Makes it use the prefetch feature of Windows, makes the initial startup faster.

Wow, this is amazing! Why doesn't Firefox make this a user-friendly/supported feature?

wow i just downloaded mozilla to try this out its a blessing this is so fast so cool thanks a lot!!

Thanks, very nice tweaks, works like magic. I like the part where it's only a few values that need to be changed. It's no update or plug-in.

Damnit -_- I might actually stop using IE
::Shivers::

Yep, seem to really speed things up :D

Is there another site like this with more tweaks?

hmm not really.

agreed.
Although IE is the worst one out there its faster than firefox both in UI and building the page (loading int)
I could easily notice that at pre-hl2 era (that is, before I get my new rig)
