Favorite Linkin Park Song

I'd say quite the opposite.. The Slim Shady LP is so very much better than his newer stuff. It's more 'real', seems closer to the heart.

I realy do like him and yes his older stuff is more about his life, i used to realy like it but now... i don't know i just don't like it anymore, but i like him

I think everyone (under the age of 20) went through (or is going through) a dark period in their teenage years where they liked crap like Linkin Park and other "pop-metal" bands. Yes, myself included. Thankfully I grew up and developed a taste for real music. The only bit of hope I can offer you Sparda is that one day you will grow out of them, probably the day your balls drop. I sometimes envy those who lived through the 60's and 70's, back in those days you had genre defining bands and individuals springing up left right and centre. Today we're treated to the same old generic crap time after time. I could count the number of truly excellent musicians that have come out in the last 25 years on one hand.
Yes, I too went through the Linkin Park Dark Ages. What do I like now? ACDC, Led, Lynard, Deep Purple, Foo Fighters, 30 Seconds to Mars, and a lot of one songers by random artists.

Then you've been looking in the wrong places, music wise. So many brilliant artists/songs/albums of emerged since 1980 its not even funny. The only catch is that you have to find them yourself, the next great album isn't going to sell 10 million copies.

I agree with CB on Eminem. Used to be rather good, and has (as far as I can tell) fallen into the mainstream rapper trap of just going on about himself all the time.

As for Linkin Park, some of their songs are actually alright. Especially that 'Hammertime' one.

1980 - 1990 perhaps, that's when the wave of the 60-70's was breaking, however after that, particularly in the last 15 years I haven't heard any new bands that have made my ears tingle.

Dammed, we have some very narrowminded, judgemental people on thease boards.

Yeah, isn't it cool?:p

I for one do like a few of their songs but the rest are just meh. I don't know why you keep debating this, it depends on your personal preference if you like this band or not so quit judging each other.

While I have to agree with your statement for most political threads at these forums but I can't say I can agree here. If someone doesn't like a paticular band then so be it. There's no other way to go around it.

Offcourse you are right, but insulting/degarding the people/their state of mind/believs/age/taste because of the band they listen to is not right.

I Agree, just none of this "omg noob u suck" because someone likes a band or so.

And if everyone started just posting there favorite songs well this thread would be boring.

I used to like... oh hell, I don't know the name of the tracks any more. All I know is I liked a few of their songs when I was younger, but now I can't stand them.

Linkin Park strikes me as a band with good production values, but it's hollow, pretentious, and downright stupid a lot of the time. Almost every one of their songs sounds like it's been specifically geared to be as mainstream as possible. They're nifty hooks that stick in your head, but hold precious little substance. And even on a purely technical level, they shy away from balls-to-the-walls energy of, say, Nine Inch Nails.

It's music I can tolerate. I can admit it takes a level of talent. But there's little to respect about it.

i dont listen to them AT ALL any more. but years back their best track was with you

Man, I used to listeng 24/7 to Hybrid theory and Reanimation. Then the band went down hill with the crappy rapping and "heavy" sound in Meteora. I've since then lost interest. I will surelly d-load their new album, and if its good I'll buy it.

BTW: To all the people who "listen to good music" just because their fav bands are some "underground" bands who couldn't get a record deal because according to them they don't want to become "mainstream" : Please Shut the fuk up

Edit: About fort minor: just 2 cool songs : "Dedicated" and "Remember The Name"

I use to listen to their first album all the time (With Crawling, Close To The Edge, blah blah blah..) Until I realized bands like NiN, Deftones, and STP were way harder and way better

Linkin Park is non-music

Dedicated is cool but you should listen to Red to Black.

Someone here compared Linkin Park (minus the Rap) to Alice In Chains, I'm sorry but that comparision is wack. Alice doesn't have any of the electronica mess LP has, the lyrics are vastly different, the guitar work on Alice is great... not so much in LP, and when it all boils down to their songs, LP just flat out does not resemble Alice at all.

What I do consider a ripoff of Alice is say... Godsmack, amongst many others but LP is not one of them.

Funny, because I don't recall anybody saying this.

No one said that, but if you read better you will see that it was said in about 4-5 diferant ways.

The one where nobody sings.

Musically, they are good.

Lyrically, they blow with hurricane force.

They're one of those bands that you're like "hey this is an okay song" and then the lyrics start so you instantly throw a shoe at your radio.

I love their music. I just don't listen to the words. I like the sound of the words, I just don't care for their pain and suffering.

The ones I can play over and over: Faint, My December (reanimation), Somewhere I Belong (chorus sucks ass).

I think the lead singer has a grate voice.

No, not really.

There's a difference betweem hating something because it's mainstream and hating it because they've done everything in their power to make it so.

As I said before, when you're specifically gearing your music to be easily digestible, you sacrifice your integrity and your worth as an artist. By all means, if you can gain popularity without gimping your own artistic vision, then more power to you. But everything about Linkin Park reeks of watered-down tripe. In the end, all that matters is "omg how phat is this beat?!" and the amount of angsty teeny-boppers you've got in the crowd.

When I listen to music
all I want to know is
"omg how phat is this beat?"

The only time I actually care about an artists lyrics is when I listen to rizzy ap ap.

-50 respect points. D:

The only one I can really enjoy is Faint.

I think they have great music, I just don't like the singing or lyrics.

ROFL

Another reason I dislike Linkin Park is because my friend (who listens to LP like I listen to NIN) now calls all REMIXES reanimations because of that album they put out.

Why anyone with a brain would listen to these ids is beyond me. They are horrible, just like most of the crap that has befouled the mainstream music scene lo these many decades....

I like every song from Meteora, In the End, Crawling, and a few other ones I can't remember

i used to like linkin park ages and ages ago before anyone else had ever heard of them; just as i was deciding i didn't like them anymore, they got super popular.

i don't mind a few of the songs from the first album, because they have a heavy heavy nostalgia factor for me, but i really can't stand most of them these days.
