Wait for the poll, ktnxbye.

Bear in mind that there's a 10 option limit, so don't blame me if your favourite movie is not on the list (I will try listing the most famous, though).

EDIT: Shit, wrong section. Move it, please.

Full Metal Jacket easily, followed closely by Platoon, then Apocalypse Now.

Born on the Fourth of July was very entertaining, Full Metal Jacket I thought brought out the true reality of the war, and We Were Soldiers had the best and most grusome action, which also showed me the grim reality of the war.

I like the other movies a lot, but apocalypse now was just a masterpiece.

Apocalypse Now( !!!! )
Full Metal Jacket
Platoon
Good Morning, Vietnam

Can't get myself to like The Deer Hunter, at all... way too ****ed up for me.
Hamburger Hill was hollywood garbage.
We Were Soldiers was okay but it was too super Christian soldier for me.
Rambo was Hollywood as **** but highly enjoyable.
Never saw Born on the Fourth of July.

I think mine would be Platoon.

We Were Soldiers felt like a load of patriotic garbage.

Eh, probably Baby Geniuses 2: Superbabies

Full Metal Jacket

I don't really consider Apocalypse Now a Vietnam War film. The conflict is more or less just a backdrop.

Apocalypse Now (Redux) is one of the best, if not the best, movie I've ever seen, and definitely the best among these films.

The Deer Hunter is a superb movie, and DeNiro's acting is the best than in any other of his movies.

Full Metal Jacket's first half is hilarious and and the same time terrifying, but I don't feel like the characters are given enough depth and background for us to be emotionally involved in their fate in the second half.

Haven't seen any of the other movies.

Indeed, Apocalypse Now is mostly just a modern adaptation of Heart of Darkness, and was designed to draw parallels between that book and the Vietnam war.

FMJ, closely followed by Platoon.

Indeed AN is based on Conrads Heart of Darkness and shouldn't really be seem as representative of the conflict in Vietnam. Still a good film, but not really based on anything but FFCs vision.

That's kind of the point though. The first half is all about how the army dehumanizes people.

Jesus, how the hell did I overlook Platoon? I probably like it more than FMJ. =P

Ah, yeah. Tigerland's a little known 'Nam flick.
Solid flick with a great first-time performance by Colin Farrel.

Love:
Apocalypse Now, The Deer Hunter, Good Morning Vietnam, Full Metal Jacket

Like:
We Were Soldiers, Platoon,

Hate:
Rambo II

Goooooooooooooooooooood Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorning Vietnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmm

Personally I loved the second half of FMJ as much as I did the first. The music used was sublime. Plus, Animal Mother. Enough said.

Also, I've never seen Good Morning Vietnam. I think it's probably the only Vietnam flick I haven't seen. Hmm.

See it, it's one of Robin Williams' best performances.

Apocalypse Now is the best film i've ever seen, but FMJ is a strong runner-up

For the record, the second half of FMJ is gold and dissenters should clamp their pie-holes.

Do it.

Apocalypse Now is one of the best films i've ever seen so I vote for that.

FMJ, not only the best Vietnam film but also my favorite of all time.

**** if I know, it made me cry harder and longer then any other movie I have ever seen.
Reviews seem cool about it.

I don't understand why people put so much emphasis on the napalm scene in Apocalypse Now. It's not like it's representing of the movie as a whole (if anything it's the contrary).

AN because its wandering and sometimes confusing narrative is in a strange way the best representative of the conflict.

I love Apocalypse Now & Full Metal Jacket :D

Missing in Action 2: The Beginning (with Chuck Norris) deserves a mention

Apocalypse Now is the best movie on that list, and I feel Redux adds enough to justify it as a representation of the Vietnam War (in particular the French Plantation scene, with the dinner table argument).

Platoon

I thought Tigerland was boring...
