Couldn't have said it better myself.Murray_H said:Dasani didn't do so well over here - it was found out to be tap water, filtered using methods not as special as they claim, contaminated with bromate (a carcinogen)

The_Monkey said:Why do you need a filter for tap water? Isn't that supposed to be clean?
Then what's the water purification plant for? Making the water dirtier? Seriously, next you're gonna tell me that you have to boil the water before drinking it.Raziaar said:You're kidding, right? Most of the tap water from many places tends to get rather polluted. I've tried the tap water from many cities, in many different states, and most of them taste like crap. The filter takes out the excess additives and impurities and to me(note: to me) improves the taste quite a bit. Drinking enough tap water at my house will make me sick to my stomach. When its filtered, I can easily drink a couple gallons a day.
Does it club seals and chop down trees?Dalamari said:Fuji water is for preppy girls in their teens, now Aquafina, that is a man's water

oldagerocker said:Apparently they put chemicals in water which act to dull the population. I cant remember what it was, i think its oestrogen or something.
Don't stop drinking it. I'll be there in five minutes. :naughty:mortiz said:Come to think of it, my breasts are a bit larger.
Well me and everyone I know drink directly from the tap, as do most of my country's population. That water is about as clean as it gets.Raziaar said:The water purification plants do an amazing job, but they don't make it perfect. Its clean enough for humans to drink, but not necessarily clean enough to make it palatable to human taste buds. How is that hard to understand? Safe... yes. Delicious? Not necessarily so.
The main purpose of the purification plants is to take the foul waters, filled with feces, and excrements of both animals and man... pollution, sediments, dirt, you name it... and filter it out with chemicals and other methods to try as best as possible to remove the bad smells and tastes, and make it so that it is drinkable without disease or ill health effects to people.

Yes, the chemicals are necessary, but they hardly taste much. I guess that the cleaning methods of our countries are different.Raziaar said:No, its not as 'clean as it gets', but its clean enough for you to drink. It still has chlorine, and other chemicals... which are good, as it is a method of keeping the water clean up to the point people drink it, but doesn't really taste all that great. The filters and stuff help to remove the chemicals and odors, etc, up to the point that you desire to drink it, and not before. That way, its as clean as required before you filter it, and more so once you drink it. If you took away all those chemicals and stuff and stored the water in non airtight methods prior to drinking, chances are it would stagnate and be much more unhealthy.

Well I can't speak for you, but doesn't the big cities have really much chlorine in the water? But if it is like you speak, then I understand you using a filter.Raziaar said:You're drinking from Sweden. What the hell are you even talking about tap water differences with me for anyways? Damn swedes and your fresh tap water.
We're americans! We got shit for water! At least I think so. Filtered tap water tastes just as good as most bottled water, without the costs.
Shens said:Tap water. Tastes pretty okay here in NYC.

I wonder the same thing. Maybe the want the bottle...MaxiKana said:They did a test here in Finland and found out that finnish tap water is more pure than some branded bottled water. Also our tapwater is like the best in the world. SO WHY DO FINNISH CHICKS BUY WATER THAT'S WORSE THAN WHAT THEY GET FROM THE TAP!?
