Pretentious poll? Don't mind if I do!

..but seriously, buying bottled water. C'mon.

I just drink tap water too. I only ever buy bottled water when I'm out. We have one of those drink water filters but I never use it, I can't see the point.

Even if tap water is sort of dirty, it'll help keep you immune system in good shape.

Why do you need a filter for tap water? Isn't that supposed to be clean?

You're kidding, right? Most of the tap water from many places tends to get rather polluted. I've tried the tap water from many cities, in many different states, and most of them taste like crap. The filter takes out the excess additives and impurities and to me(note: to me) improves the taste quite a bit. Drinking enough tap water at my house will make me sick to my stomach. When its filtered, I can easily drink a couple gallons a day.

Our tap water is complete shit were I live, So we have a filter but When I am going somewhere I take a bottle o' water.

Then what's the water purification plant for? Making the water dirtier? Seriously, next you're gonna tell me that you have to boil the water before drinking it.

Does it club seals and chop down trees?
I love that story about Dasani - it makes me laugh at how stupid they were. Never mind, Coke.
Although, the name sounds like Asahi, the Japanese beer, which is much nicer than expensive water and more worth the money.
I hardly ever drink bottled water (unless I'm out in town and I'm dying of thirst) - there en't nowt wrong wi' gud ol' fashunn'd tap wa'er.

The water purification plants do an amazing job, but they don't make it perfect. Its clean enough for humans to drink, but not necessarily clean enough to make it palatable to human taste buds. How is that hard to understand? Safe... yes. Delicious? Not necessarily so.

The main purpose of the purification plants is to take the foul waters, filled with feces, and excrements of both animals and man... pollution, sediments, dirt, you name it... and filter it out with chemicals and other methods to try as best as possible to remove the bad smells and tastes, and make it so that it is drinkable without disease or ill health effects to people.

Apparently they put chemicals in water which act to dull the population. I cant remember what it was, i think its oestrogen or something.

Holy shit, no more tap water for me. You know, I always thought it tasted a bit funny.

Come to think of it, my breasts are a bit larger.

Well me and everyone I know drink directly from the tap, as do most of my country's population. That water is about as clean as it gets.

pff good old Glucose drinks will do me :D keeps me awake and with a bad taste in my mouth

No, its not as 'clean as it gets', but its clean enough for you to drink. It still has chlorine, and other chemicals... which are good, as it is a method of keeping the water clean up to the point people drink it, but doesn't really taste all that great. The filters and stuff help to remove the chemicals and odors, etc, up to the point that you desire to drink it, and not before. That way, its as clean as required before you filter it, and more so once you drink it. If you took away all those chemicals and stuff and stored the water in non airtight methods prior to drinking, chances are it would stagnate and be much more unhealthy.

Yes, the chemicals are necessary, but they hardly taste much. I guess that the cleaning methods of our countries are different.

FLouride treated tap water is a good idea. btw I have a new avatar how do you like it?

You're drinking from Sweden. What the hell are you even talking about tap water differences with me for anyways? Damn swedes and your fresh tap water.

We're americans! We got shit for water! At least I think so. Filtered tap water tastes just as good as most bottled water, without the costs.

Well I can't speak for you, but doesn't the big cities have really much chlorine in the water? But if it is like you speak, then I understand you using a filter.

Tap water. Tastes pretty okay here in NYC.

If you're raised on the stuff, it might not taste bad in later life. Went to CA. My dad said he liked the tap water he grew up with in my grandpa's house, but it tasted like crap to me.

I'm picky when it comes to water, I guess.

Wonderful expensive* Upstate New York chilled tap water. :)

*We live near Niagara Falls AND the Great Lakes FFS! Why is it so damn expensive?!

All this talk of drinking like a man... You're not a man until you've drank and redrank your own urine so much, the alkili content is enough to burn through the porcelain of a urinal.

I don't drink water so much anymore, but we have a water filter. And a tap inth e fridge, which puts out ice and slush too... Come summer, I'l probably have more. I sometimes get the 19p bottles water from Quality Save, they're about the same size as regular evian bottle or something. 500ml maybe. I only buy bottles, when I have to... Seriously, paying for water at price more expensive than petrol seems so insane, when it falls from the sky.

tap water

I can't understand why people drint bottled water in areas where tap water is completely fine.

ASDA smart price water

Its bottled
Its extremely cheap (20p per bottle)
Plus you get you minerals

Then someone contaminates the water :x

They did a test here in Finland and found out that finnish tap water is more pure than some branded bottled water. Also our tapwater is like the best in the world. SO WHY DO FINNISH CHICKS BUY WATER THAT'S WORSE THAN WHAT THEY GET FROM THE TAP!?

Scotch for me, thanks.

-Angry Lawyer

I can imagine you dying of thirst in a desert and someone offers you water, and you just ask "Got any scotch?"

Surprised no-ones said this yet:
"Dont drink the tapwater. They put something in it, to make you forget."

Scotch on the rocks, to be precise. I'd need some ice in it to cool me down a bit.

I've had the urge, but didn't, it just looks so pure!

But, I really drink Highland Spring. Naturally filtered through land certified as organic by the soil association and drawn from a protected source, Highland Spring is 100% Scottish natural mineral water.

Sounds convincing.

isnt Dasani dangerous containslike a 500% over the limit chemical in it :)

isnt sold in uk no more

Yeah, it was criticised for being purified tap water and containing high-levels of bromate. I found this quote funny from a Dasani article a while back:

"The company says Dasani - recently launched in the UK - is "as pure as bottled water gets" thanks to a "highly sophisticated purification process"."

They obviously haven't tasted distilled water.

Distilled water is no good for you for prolonged periods of time. If you wanna detox its alright, but thats all.
