Favourite sitcom

I don't watch that many sitcoms but Scrubs would probably be my favorite, although Black Books, Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Fraiser and Yes Minister all get a mention. Seinfeld gets a mention too even if I find the characters really annoying at times.

Yes, Minister always sucked.
Lies. Yes, Minister is awesome. I've got the first 2 seasons on DVD and will be borrowing the rest (including Yes, Prime Minister) from a friend after exams.

Whats the difference between sitcom and comedy show?
A sitcom (short for Situation Comedy) is a sub-genre of Comedy. On TV it is easily the largest comedy genre. Contrast to stand-up, improv, parody, cartoon, romantic, etc.

Black Books. Not a single off episode (which isn't too surprising considering it's length).

Father Ted's great too, but doesn't have the same appeal it first did when I try to rewatch it now.

Seinfeld, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Married with Children.

umm, Spaced. Obviously.

Mentions of honour to Red Dwarf (pre season 5), Only Fools and Horses, Black Adder, Fawlty Towers and Scrubs. Oh, Men Behaving Badly, Game On (before the shit Matt), Young Ones and Bottom.

Seinfeld was f*cking awful. Shallow, unlikable characters. Literally, a show about nothing. :flame:

Scrubs, 30 Rock are OK.

Seinfeld, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Married with Children.

What?

...just, what?!

(Also, Warbie- Red Dwarf was great seasons 1-6, seven and eight lost alot of its edge)

Three's Company, and a reruns of Seinfeld are still great.

The entire premise of the show is just about New York pettiness. I like Seinfeld, but I can only watch a couple of episodes at a time. I agree it can be grating. I'd put Arrested development above it, simply because it's less snarly and the reoccurring jokes are class, plus Buster and G.O.B are quality.

I think 30 Rock is doing a pretty good job at present. Baldwin is much better than I imagined and Kenneth is a superb character.

What the hell is this? Everbody loves Raymond was the worst piece of overrated tripe that ever was. Seriously, it was so praised and it was so very shit. I heard that unfunny ass-bag Ray Romano was the highest paid actor on television during some part of the show. Yeah, yeah, I know "internets is serious business" and all that but this show ****ing bothers me. It was never funny in any way, shape or form.

I felt that there were a couple of ordinary episodes in the last season, but yeah I see where you are coming from.
