Before you view this video I want to say a few words. I have met very few African Americans (they are not African ffs pick one! African or American) that don't act like this. Now I know you will say "hool10 is racist" instantly and that may be true. Though I have met very few black people that do not act like this. Also Bill Cosby is usually right whenever he talks except for Pokemon ;) Before you watch any of this though be sure to note it's NSFW:

I guess why I made this thread is I'm angry at MTV and the way African Americans act. Blacks fought so hard to be respectable people and yet we are now in the 21st century and they can't use proper English (shhreet, fiddy cent). It shows that blacks are stupid and can't graduate from school. Black comedians constantly use the "N word" and yet they fought so hard to stop this. I can't find any people my age that are black and not looking like a rapper. I'm not saying for all black people to be proper and right, I'm just saying to be normal. I also hate the NAACP and if you said any of this to them they would instantly say the above is all wrong. Yet it's ok for the black community to be like this guy: http://generallyawesome.com/2006/photos/50Cent.jpg The NAACP act like Bill Cosby is an embarrasemnt to the community yet most people view him as a hero. Others look at the Pokemon jokes and Fat Albert. :dozey: Anybody see my point of view?

You're stupid for even saying that. The reason that they talk like they do or have the education level that they do is NOT because of their ethnicity. It is purely a result of the poverty/class level that they live in. If a white or hispanic or asian person were raised in the same environment, you will see the same results (and we do too, ie wiggers).

We all have our own way of speaking, and its based on where we live and who we are surrounded by. Take New Jersey for example: They all have their annoying accent and probably dress/act weird in other people's eyes, but it doesn't have anything to do with their ethnicity/race.

Yes that's very much true. Mexicans can't speak English, etc that type of styreotype. It's just that these rappers (and posers) just don't care about language at all. They could say street but if you notice they have a hard time with sounding out the letter "t" or"d". Heck any word. They can't even say they N word, they have to end it with an a. Basically it's a lack of caring. Don't say it's poverty because that has nothing to do with it. It's been proven countless times that it depends upon yourself. *An example. I went to a public tech school and this kid joined my shop. We were all shocked a black person was in the school and he also joined our shop. Turned out kid could'nt read. Yet everybody liked him and he was cool because he wore baggy pants, etc.

You can't just assume they don't care about speaking proper English. I've spent time in a course here on campus where they are offering proper English lessons and many of the students were taking the class because they had to learn how to speak properly.

If all of your friends and everyone around you constantly said "Axe" instead of "Ask", you might develop the same habits.

Hell, I used to say "yall" instead of "you all" or "you guys" all the way up to college just because I was surrounded by others who said it (being in Texas).

Lol I guess you're right on the accent thing. Yet I don't hear many people here having the "Bostonian" accent.

He has his clock on backwards!

Wait, why does he wear a clock? Isn't he a rapper? I thought those huge clocks were only hiphop. The whole "******" thing is indeed confusing. But not all black people accept it. Have a look at the website INeverUseTheWordN?gger.com

The whole thing about the N word is kind of like women who dress provocatively: It's their choice, but to men who are turned down by them, that is ****ing confusing.
I find the language thing stupid, too. The majority of the people who talk like that do it just for the heck of it, and that is really stupid.

Also Bill Cosby is usually right whenever he talks except for Pokemon ;)
Pokemon? Pokemon with the pokey and the mon and the thing with the guy pops out? Ah ah ah.

Quite possibly the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.

The NAACP act like Bill Cosby is an embarrasemnt to the community yet most people view him as a hero. Others look at the Pokemon jokes and Fat Albert. :dozey: Anybody see my point of view?
You really need to get to know Cosby before the Fat Albert jig, if you already didn't. He was one serious mutha fofo. Check back on his work he did in the 60s.

You should also accept that cultures can develop speech impediments. I have a very hard time saying words or combinations of words that should be very easy. I consider myself a near master of the language. I care about it. All the caring in the world won't help me pronounce certain words right.

You sir, are an ignorant cretin and a fool.

I have met very few African Americans

blacks are stupid and can't graduate from school.
I also hate the NAACP

Out of interest; in 1997 Bill Cosby's son, Ennis Cosby was shot in the head whilst changing a tire on the side of a freeway.
This apparently motiveless killing was committed by a Mr Mikail Markhasev, who is -as you might guess- white.

Eh you can't just call someone an ignorant cretin without giving a good reason. :|

You have got to be kidding, right?
Did you even bother to read either post?
It's okay to sound off in a self-admittedly ignorant manner about an ethnic group, but to challenge such a tirade is what ...... bad manners?

You are expecting people to just fall in line with what you believe. The words and feelings I had for what he said are nowhere near as harsh as yours. I disagree with this "ignorant cretin" label.
I also think it is wrong to just insult someone without explaining yourself. There has to be a reason behind your thinking, but we can't assume you really have one if you don't make it known.

A large problem with the black community is that that they themselves are reinforcing through media and social norms what they once fought against. Really, take a look at the website I posted. There are blacks that despise this part of their culture as much as some of us do.

But a larger problem is that we, like we do in politics, try to silence those who disagree with us. Look at what happened here: The guy who posted this is flamed and insulted by other people. This is one of the many ways political correctness manifests itself; It's ok for the blacks to call each other ******, but it's not for you because you are white. This is one of the reasons we cannot debate these issues, because some people *cough* will fly into a politically correct temper tantrum and do what he/she can to take focus away from any points you might have, by, for example, calling you a racist which invalidates any points you might have in the eyes of other debaters. In this sense, we're just as much to blame as they are for not addressing these issues themselves.

So the real instigators of racism in our time are the people who try to stifle any critique of observed cultural phenomenas, social norms, etc, among other races. It's a kind of positive racism. For example: There's a difference between calling an Asian man a "chink" and criticizing the role of women in his country. However, sometimes people will use legitimate criticism as a tool to further an agenda, and the knowledge of this fact alone makes a lot of people afraid of saying something that could be interpreted as "racist".

Something I realized about "the bad side" of hip hop culture, the record labels and lawyers and promoters of these people are white. I'm not going to call white conspiracy to keep the brotha down, but let's not rule it out just yet...
There is just so much black culture out there that is good but white people ignore it. I have never met a black person I didn't like at least a little, and I have known a LOT of black people. Mostly because I have had very few white friends.
Then again, I've never lived in the ghetto. This probably makes me biased. Should it?

? really do we need an explanation as to why this thread is stupid?

What, all of them? There isn't just one, you great pillock.

Is there an attitude problem in America today?

Yes.

Does this problem effect blacks?

Some of them, yes.

All of them?

No, that's stupid. Quit referring to the the "African American" as having a problem. That's a rash generalization and the reason people are making fun of you hool.

Also, racism isn't about skin color, it's about (economic) competition and collectivism.

The racism at Halflifef2.net is alarming. I'm ashamed.

There are blacks that act a certain way, for the most part they are kids or the youth. I also see emos, head bangers, and whatever stereotype there is, where they talk pretty stupid and act a certain way.

when they grow up, they will change.

I have met and been friends with thousands of blacks, and many of them don't talk with any ethnicity at all. What I mean is you can't really tell what color they are from the way they talk. And most of the ones that do, it's just few particular popular words that they use, other than that it's plain english. Like saying, "what's up?" or "wassup?". I think it's a hell of a lot cooler than some english professor saying "what is up" or whatever.

For the most part, it's black kids, or youth in certain areas, pretty much from the inner-city that have less of an education, and are surrounded by people that talk a certain way including an accent - then you have tons of other kids who just want to be like them, because they think it's cool, so they end up with a fake sounding emulation of it.

Color does not have anything to do with their vocal cords.

I think they speak a certain way intentionally because they think it's funny or cool to their audience or friends. You might not like it, but they do. If you watch some black comedians, in my opinion, their delivery is a hell of a lot more funny if they use a modified form of english like they do.

People from New York, New Jersey, and California have a very strong accent and have their own little changes to the english language to begin with, then of course you have people that live in the south, mid-west, mid-east, and each area has it's own accents.

And if you think they dress like a rapper, then maybe they do. I mean, I've seen tons of kids emulate the dress of their favorite musicians, whether it be rock, metal, electronic, grunge, or whatever type of music they like, they often dress like that.

Some people talk, dress, or act a certain way because they are in gangs, or want to act like they are in gangs, white/black/or otherwise.

When they buy this kind of clothes they are supporting the black owned businesses like FUBU, Sean John, Phat Farm, Rockawear, Wu-Wear, etc. They are buying American, and I don't see why this should have a negative connotation of their character, just because you don't like the style.

I hate black people who act like idiots in equally the same way as I hate white people who act like idiots.

Sort of like the way I feel, except I don't hate the people, I hate the way they act.
Then you don't get to join our hate club :frown:

(We have cool white hats. So there.)

P.S.: I agree with both of you

I've personally never understood why it was cool for anyone to act like a moron, regardless of race, sex, or creed.

Despite the OP's somewhat misguided and/or clumsy explanations he does have a few valid points. 6 years ago, I would've been right there with everyone here that's all PC outraged at what some people in this thread are saying. But at that time, I didn't have any life experience outside my upper middle class suburban community. At that time, most of the few black people I knew were intelligent people, or at the very least, NOT the degenerates the OP and the video are directed at.

Then, I moved to Louisiana. I bought a house in what one might call a "hit or miss" neighborhood. That's not referring to getting shot - its not THAT bad ;) What I mean is that on a single block, there might be a few nice houses - people that take care of their property, pay their bills, etc. Then a few houses down, there are houses with junk piled up on the porch, shit all over the yard, small children (3-5 yrs) running around unsupervised, or supervised only by their slightly older (ie, 8-9 years old) siblings, etc. I won't beat around the bush - I am referring to black families on my block.

As far as the language issues raised - I consider myself fairly adept at understanding people with different accents, and even some fairly heavy ones. I have neighbors that I can literally not understand a single word out of their mouth.

Those of you that read this or the OP and start yelling about racism are completely missing the point. The point of the OP and Bill Cosby's campaign isn't that ALL black people are like this, or that ONLY black people are like this. The point is to get the black people that ARE like this to clean up their act.

kids often use pig latin so they wont be understood by people around them ..same goes for most coloquialisms. Ghetto speak is part collequialism and part lack of education. it's a language that came up from the poor classes to be expropriated by the middle and upper classes ...You're as likely to hear someone say "s'up g?" in a university as you are in the ghetto it's just far more predominate in the ghetto due to lack of proper education ..anyways ignorance doesnt discriminate based on race or social status ..there are quite a few of our members who are just as uneducated as people living in a ghetto ..despite recieving an education ..ignorance isnt typified by language alone

I can agree with a few of the OP's points...but it was racist when the OP stated "blacks this... blacks that" you can't stereotype an entire ethnicity because of a few idiots. I agree with you on the NAACP...they're a joke, they're a racist organization and should be treated like one. As well as "United Negro College Fund". And also about the word "******" (I don't say "The N word" because that just is stupid, sounds like 3rd grader talk) should not be used ever, or any racial slurs for that matter. Rappers who use this term are, well idiots..and should be ashamed of themselves for bringing the term into common usage. There are rappers out there that can make music about other things without having to use this offensive racial slur. Now thanks to rap music, we have an entire generation of young blacks (and sometimes non blacks) using the word like it's general conversation (not saying all blacks use the word kind of hard for me to get the point across without sounding like I'm stereotyping). I hope that one day people will have some common sense and stop using racial slurs, especially "******" which is used so commonly in society (at least American society) because I for one am sick of hearing it all the time.

I agree that there is a definite double standard going on. For instance, take the way it was at my high school. It was okay for a Mexican (err, Hispanic, Latino, Chicano, Tejano, whatever it's politically correct to call them this week) to have a shirt that said "Brown Pride" on it, and nobody would complain. If I wore a shirt that said "White Pride", the administration would go berserk.

Last semester, the former leader of the Black Panthers, a racist organization, was invited to speak at my university.

That is called racism, but people don't think that way because the minorites (Mexicans are NOT the minority here) are not the ones being discriminated against.

Not that I would wear a White Pride t-shirt anyway, I'm just illustrating a point.

sorry but that comparison is idiotic ..white supremacists use "white pride" as their slogan ..there is no such equivilent in any other community, so your comparison isnt at all valid

Last semester, the former leader of the Black Panthers, a racist organization, was invited to speak at my university.

the black panthers were initially organised to stop police brutality in black neighbourhoods ..I seriously doubt your university would invite openly racist groups to lecture at your schoool

That is called racism, but people don't think that way because the minorites (Mexicans are NOT the minority here) are not the ones being discriminated against.

so there's a "whites only" seating areas on buses? please explain how whites are being discriminated against?

Not that I would wear a White Pride t-shirt anyway, I'm just illustrating a point.

rather poorly I might add

anyways I'm done with this thread as I dont want some of you giving me reasons to dislike you ..Zeus you make my head hurt ..I have little faith in our future if this thread is any indication as to what today's youth/tommorrows leaders look like

sorry but that comparison is idiotic ..white supremacists use "white pride" as their slogan ..there is no such equivilent in any other community, so your comparison isnt at all valid

Yes it is. It doesn't matter who uses the term if we are to apply the same standard to all races.

the black panthers were initially organised to stop police brutality in black neighbourhoods ..I seriously doubt your university would invite openly racist groups to lecture at your schoool

The Ku Klux Klan also picks up trash from highways.

Yes it is. It doesn't matter who uses the term if we are to apply the same standard to all races.

googah, zumma zamma, wizzle wozzle

words are meaningless without context ..my point still stands

The Ku Klux Klan also picks up trash from highways.

ah but the KKK's reason for being isnt to save white people from being unjustly beaten by neighbourhood cops ..you might as well have used any group/situation as your analogy is completely meaningless

sorry but that comparison is idiotic ..white supremacists use "white pride" as their slogan ..there is no such equivilent in any other community, so your comparison isnt at all valid

And the Hispanics can't use that slogan as a declaration of their supremacy? Please tell, why not?

the black panthers were initially organised to stop police brutality in black neighbourhoods ..I seriously doubt your university would invite openly racist groups to lecture at your schoool

The Black Panther Party hides behind a facade of non-racist sentiments, so you're right about it not being openly racist.

so there's a "whites only" seating areas on buses? please explain how whites are being discriminated against?

You failed to make the connection, but I'll make it for you. I was using the t-shirt argument to make my point, but there are other situations as well. For instance, there's the fact that universities are more likely to give scholarships and grants to minority students, based solely on their ethnicity. That is undeniable racism.

rather poorly I might add

Sticks and stones, pal.
