anyone ever hear of them? I just started listening to them, not bad.

Combination of the flaming lips and the dresden dolls

you surely know who the flaming lips are?

Durpa durr. I'm saying that's the strangest combination. Flaming Lips are incredibly upbeat while Dresden Dolls are incredibly not upbeat.

ah, I see, yeah. It has Flaming lips upbeatness combined with dresden dolls' 1930's piano-ness. Oh and a female singer

I have Bitter Tea and Rehearsing My Choir and I like them both a fair bit and The Fiery Furnaces are fairly strange and one of the bands I listen to not too often and when I'm in the mood.

I haven't heard of the Dresden Dolls but I can somewhat see some similarities between Flaming Lips/Fiery Furnaces.

Some of these bands need to renew their names, they are throwing any old crap together nowadays.

Dresden Dolls aren't big enough that you should be surprised to have not heard of them (being from Australia). They came out of Boston like 5 years ago. They haven't spread overseas much to my knowledge. They're good, but I think I prefer Amanda Palmer's solo stuff. Can't wait for her upcoming CD. Anyway, back on topic!

they should have keep the flaming lips name:naughty:

-??? as opposed to any other band in history? The Beatles, Depeche Mode, AC/DC, Smashing Pumpkins, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Dream Theater, etc, etc.

-If you look at any band name, it doesn't make sense, even if they had a reason to name it that
