No it's not. There is no indication anywhere in the movie that his name is Jack, or anything else for that matter. He is simply referred to as the narrator.

No it's not. There is no indication anywhere in the movie that his name is Jack, or anything else for that matter. He is simply referred to as the narrator.
Well he also refers to himself as Cornelius. But if you read the book and watched the movie it's pretty blatant that his name is most likely Jack if you don't disregard the undertones. They don't need to be blatant about it.

I was trying to make a sly joke about starting a fight as a Fight Club/Project Mayhem homework assignment, but I guess it was ill-conceived

Oh, I thought you were imply that you had to read Fight Club as an assignment and didn't, in which case I would have been kinda bothered that you didn't take the opportunity to read that book.
lol, I hear lots of people wanting to start fight clubs, and actually, around here about once every two years you hear about some kids in the news that tried to start a big one. Never works out to anyones surprise.
but anyways, project mayhem would be 10x more enjoyable than fight club, because although more illegal, when you go into fight club being all "This is sweet yo" the second you get knocked in the face you are going to be like "oh yeah, I forgot how much it 'effin hurts to be punched in the face" and then quit lol

Yeah, I remember at my old high school some kids started a "fight club". They used boxing gloves and wouldn't hit in the face :|

I still count Fight Club as my favourite film of all time and Edward Norton is a great actor.
(Second fave is American Psycho because of Christian Bales awesomeness.)
PS His name is not Jack. You may deduct and assume it is Jack but it is never confirmed.
