Final Fantasy VI for the SNES is a classic. But out of 8 or 7 I'd go with 7.

FF7 beats the pants off most FF games. FF6 is pretty good...but Cloud and Sephiroth are just too badass to pass up. FF8 has a serious flaw where you can do your limit break any time you want...over and over again.

Gu! FFVII is the best game ever!! The Storyline is great! Everything about that game is amazing! lol ... The materia system is sooo cool! I didn't like that you cannot buy weapons in FF8 and the monsters are always leveling up at the same rate as your character... FF8 was all about summoning GF all the time... and the story was ****ed up with that time compression thing and... FFVII all the way! And the movie will be great to! Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children.

Final Fantasy Tactics all the way, by far my favorite FF game

Just got Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for Christmas, it comes in a close second/ties FFT in my book.

If I had to chose between FF7 or FF8, FF7. That's my favorite tranditional FF RPG, followed by FF6 (3 for SNES).

Gee so much hate for 8, (hey that ryhmed ) i would pick 7 but 8 is very good also, 8 has a great story and all that just like the others.

Get FF7 PC, the graphics are more crisp and it's not like looking at one giant jaggy-fest Plus, if you have an nVidia card, you can turn anti-aliasing on

The dated graphics might be a bit bothering at first but once you get into the story you won't be putting your controler down untill you fall asleep.

The FMVs are horribly outdated (most modern games look as good as alot of the FMVs), but they're still really cool. Outdated, yes, but there's a certain atmosphere to the entire game that makes you forget all about the graphics

Why not just buy them both? you could probably pick them up for dirt cheap, and they are worth playing, also Final Fantasy Tactics offers no end of replay value, not to mention the superb story.

Warbie, not a fan of tactics? IMO, Tactics and Tactics Advance are the two best FF games (although they're not traditional FF games, they're still my favorites)

Whats wrong with u, you must have been dropped on your head at birth to think 8 is better than 7. Graphics or not, 7 is still the best video game ever created on planet earth and I want to lick the shoes of the developers.

I was in the same boat, but I got FFT Advance for Christmas.. and wow, I have to say, it's a very very worthy sequel to FFT. It has that exact same atmosphere as FFT, although the storyline doesn't seem to be gritty at all. Geared more towards kids (hey, you get transported into a Final Fantasy game.. lol), but it's really good none-the-less.

Talking about sequels, Megaman X7 is the crappiest sequel I've ever played. Talk about botching up a game, Capcom =/ lol

Edit: Wanted to add, I've clocked in at 16 hours since Christmas on FFT Advance, it's like crack haven't played DX:IW because of it.. plan on taking it one game at a time
