I've been with my girlfriend (now fiancee) for nearly 6 years. We started together junior year of high school, and have stayed together all through college. Well, I got a decent job this summer, which provided me with quite a bit more cash than usual and I was finally able to afford the ring. I took her up to Ottawa and bought some tickets to the boat tour to mislead her, as I'm pretty sure she suspected I was going to propose today, just not when. After the tour, we went up near the statue of Samuel de Champlain and I proposed there. The view was perfect for the moment, and I don't think it could have gone any better than it did. Now comes the wedding planning :O.

To be honest I always thought you were, like, 14.

the wedding that will make you look for a divorce once you see the bill

what if he is?!

One ring to rule them all.

Must have pics - for the family photo album... so might as well post the 'happy couple' pics here. I have difficulty believing that such a thing exists.

Grats. Make sure you plan a "fun" honeymoon. :naughty:

(I went to Disney World for mine, it was fun, but wayyyyyy to many kids)

Congratulations! Here's to many long years
good choice of proposal location btw

EDIT: I hate to be a grammar nazi, but your 'finance' there really bothers me

Well, I could probably knock a few years off if I shaved my goatee. But no, I'm 22.

That was honestly the first thing that crossed my mind, but I'd like it to be something a little different (we also went there not too long ago). Depending on prices, I'd really like to go to Japan for it.

We got some pictures of Parliament from the rear while we were there. It was truly a stunning view. As for my error, I guess I should really double check what chrome corrects my errors as. :p

Grats.

Thats awesome man. Congrats. I wish you guys the best.

Great story how you've been together since high school, that's really nice and says alot about how your relationship will stand up to the test of time. I can relate to your situation, but I'm only 4 years in and 20 years old. :)

Many congratulations to you both and all the best for the future!

Conspatulations! :3

Best wishes for the future!

I hope your fiancee dies on your wedding night.

I mean... congrats!

We could set up some sort of countdown timer till it reaches 6 years. Everyday when you come to this site it would be there, counting down every second till you have to ask. No pressure, like.

Also congrats to sedako

Thanks everyone. You're all invited to the wedding, you just have to find it first... ;)

Congratz! i really hope i have the balls to do the same one day...

That's how amazing this forum is. The community is considerably smaller and more intelligent that most other forums I've seen. You can actually see people "grow up" through these forums.

Hl2.net ftw.

Congratulations. 22 seems pretty early to me, but then again you've been together for 6 years, so it might be the time.

Samon, your sig is too long; 4 lines maximum, please.
