It might be the fact that i like online games better, but I almost never seem to finish a singleplayer campaign. Recently I got as far as the third chapter in CoH4. I am sorta stuck at the firefight with the Russians in the gas station, and I can't really be bothered anymore. Last year I stopped playing HL2: Ep2 because I got fed with not being able to beat the Combine during the attack on the base sequence. And although it's undoubtably a great game, I totally lost interest in Bioshock after the 2nd or 3d level. Not because I was stuck or anything, but just from boredom. The list goes on and on ....
The games I did finish are few and far between. Notable ones, to me at least, are Portal, Max Payne I & II, and at least one Grand Campaign from each of the Total War games. With Portal, the story captivated me. I played it in one sitting, which is of course very doable with a game of this length. The Max Payne games, like Portal, have a good story that's told very well. And, again like Portal, the pacing is spot on. The levels always seemed to end after the right time. And the Total War series simply rocks for its gameplay. No story at all, but I always find myself roleplaying one, featuring benevolent tyrants mostly
So how about you guys; do you always finish a game?
